Featuring achromatic lenses with the renowned T* multi-coating for maximum light transmission, the 6x18 Mono T* Monocular delivers a bright, high-contrast image. Its moderate magnifying power produces a very steady image for observing distant objects, and its generous field of view lends itself to use at concerts, plays, and sporting events. Meanwhile, the 6x18 Mono's close focus distance of just 12" is useful for examining flowers, insects, brushstrokes on paintings, or fine printed matter.

This monocular's compact form factor – only 3.4" long and weighing just 2 ounces, with a leather pouch and a carrying strap – make it easy to have on hand. Its housing is made of durable aluminum, it's splash resistant, and its operating temperature range is -4° to 104°.

    6x18 Mono T* Monocular is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little mono Very clear glass. Great for near or close viewing. Although monoculars may not quite as good for general viewing as binoculars, these are real close and they are handy. You can always throw these in your pocket for whenever you might want them unlike the binoculars you left at home or in your car. Comes with a nice little case and strap. Hold them with your fist rather than your fingers for a steadier view.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Useful This is a very well-made product, with about the best glass in its category. I like the wide range of available magnifications and objectives Zeiss offers. I take this everywhere now. There are so many times this becomes useful, but if its not in your bag or pocket you'll never get to find out just how helpful. . . impromptu birding, reading a parking sign from halfway down the block, concerts and events, on the airplane, watching the kids at the beach. . . these are so small and easy to pack there is really no excuse not to have it with you at all times.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Scope The push-pull focus takes awhile to get used to, but this is a pretty good scope. I have two other scopes, both 8X (a Leica Monovid and a Minox Minoscope, which are both more solid than the Zeiss.) The Zeiss is the most compact of the three and the close focus is very nice. 6X is a little steadier than 8X when viewing. The Zeiss excels at size in case. The Leica is beautifully crafted but bulky when in the case and requires screwing in an accessory lens for close ups. The Minox is bigger than both because it uses porro prisms rather than roof prisms. If you don't mind the size, it is a beautiful scope, well made with close focus built in like the Zeiss. If you are looking for a reasonably small and light scope, with decent optics, the Zeiss is a good value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Bright Short Focus Monocular This monocular is just as advertised the close focus down to 30cm (one foot) is excellent, sharp and bright. It's clearly optimized for close focus as the view of distant objects is not quite as good. While excellent in the center of the field, the view rapidly becomes less sharp toward the edges. Someone is not interested in the short focus aspect of this monocular would surely be happier with the 8x20 or 10x25s for more distance objects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Zeiss Monocular is an excellent instrument for cultural It's a good Monocular I bought for cultural events, and it will work nicely. It is of high quality, and the small size allows it to be carried easily. A good value.
