ESI MAYA22 Overview

The MAYA22 USB Flexible High-Performance, 24-Bit USB Audio Interface from ESI features  a mic preamplifier with XLR input and support for +48V phantom power, a Hi-Z input for guitars, a headphone output, two RCA line inputs, and a pair of 1/4" TRS line outputs. This portable MAYA22 USB device offers total flexibility as an external and fully bus-powered device with professional 24-bit audio quality. I bought this primarily to provide input from a contact mic to MAX/MSP, to control sculptures that react to ambient noise. For this use, the Maya is perfect; it is sensitive, compact, and easy to use. I am still curious how it might work for more standard audio applications, since there is no pre-gain available; there is ample output adjustment for the mic input, though. I am also using this, for the time being, as my main stereo output for my DAW. It performs quite nicely with decent sound, and easy application.

The MAYA 22 USB is a great little interface for people in the go and features 1/4 balanced outputs. The quality of the device as well as the sound quality is quite good and based on years of experience in professional audio hardware design. When running audio USB devices, one needs to be mindful of running higher sample rates on CPU load. As well, users need to ensure they are using a USB 2.0 port many systems have older ports or ones that won't sufficiently power a USB bus powered audio device reliably or offer enough bandwidth for higher sample rates.

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is res it does indeed digitize analog. It takes your analog in and converts it to digital and utilizes the USB to interface the 24bit / 96kHz digital signal with your Mac or PC Computer. Other than the USB for digital, It does not sport another digital input/output such as optical, hence why Digital I/O is None.
