Shure BLX24/PG58 Overview

The Shure BLX24/PG58 brings performers and presenters a cost-effective wireless handheld microphone system with quality sound, simple setup, intuitive operation, and dependable performance right out of the box. It includes the compact and lightweight BLX4 single-channel tabletop receiver with internal antennas, ideal for portable use.

The BLX24/PG58 also includes a handheld transmitter equipped with an integrated PG58 dynamic cardioid microphone capsule. The receiver features one-touch QuickScan frequency selection to quickly search 123 available frequencies and locate a clean RF channel in case of interference. The system provides up to 14 hours of continuous use with two AA batteries, at a range up to 300'. Up to 12 mic channels can operate simultaneously in each frequency band.

This streamlined system is well suited for live performances and events in small venues, wedding halls, and houses of worship, as well as conference, educational, and corporate facilities.

PG58 Mic Capsule Optimized for Vocals and Speech
The PG58 dynamic capsule features a cardioid polar pattern that minimizes background noise and feedback. The built-in spherical wind and pop filter reduces plosives for clear and intelligible speech.
Lightweight Handheld Transmitter
The durable BLX2 handheld transmitter offers a lightweight, ergonomic design, and is comfortable to hold. Group and channel selection buttons allow for quick and simple frequency matching with the receiver. Other features include an easily accessible on/off button, adjustable gain control, and a black identification cap. The WA621 Color ID Caps kit containing assorted colored caps is available as an optional accessory.
Easy-to-Use Tabletop Receiver for Quality Audio
The BLX4 receiver employs a microprocessor-controlled internal antenna diversity feature to improve the quality and reliability of your wireless audio. An LED display shows group and channel settings, while two LED lights indicate when the system is ready for use and the strength of the incoming audio signal. The unit offers 1/4" and XLR outputs for connectivity to PA systems and mixing boards.

The quality of the microphone is good, and the price was reasonable. The best part was the expert from B and H that guided me directly to this product. It would have been very difficult to find this product without the assistance of the expert sales person who earned my business.

BLX24/PG58-H11 What is difference in the H-11 and H-9?
Asked by: Joanne
The difference between the H9 frequency band of the Shure BLX24/PG58 Wireless Handheld Microphone System with PG58 Capsule and the H11 frequency band is the operational frequencies. H9 covers 512 to 542 MHz, and H11 covers 572 to 596 MHz. Deciding which one is best can be influenced by factors such as location (where Shure's Frequency Finder comes in handy) as well as whether you are using the new wireless system(s) alongside any existing wireless, and if so, how the new frequencies will interact with the existing frequencies.

Will the receiver transmit static when the mic is ...

Will the receiver transmit static when the mic is off?
Asked by: Bruce
The Shure BLX4 receiver in the Shure BLX24/PG58 Wireless Handheld Microphone System with PG58 Capsule should not, in theory, create any noise when not paired with the PG58 transmitter. However, this is not a specification that manufacturers provide for their wireless products. Because this system operates on open frequencies, the receiver could be susceptible to RF activity in the area, which could manifest itself as audible static noise.

Is this microphone rack-mountable?
Asked by: Nacho
The receiver included in the Shure BLX24/PG58 Wireless Handheld Microphone System with PG58 Capsule (H9: 512 to 542 MHz) is not natively rack-mountable. You would need to place it on a rack shelf like B&H # AURSV1U to have it placed inside an equipment rack.
