Zoom PCH-5 Overview

The PCH-5 from Zoom is a water-resistant protective case for the Zoom H5 Handy Recorder – sold separately – that provides access to all controls and features. It can be used to keep your device clean and dry while allowing you to visually monitor your recordings.

Just pull the window back to make adjustments. The case's rigid top & bottom provide support and protection, while the touch-tab fastener strips on the top, bottom, and sides allow for easy access to all controls.

Additionally, the removable microphone cover keeps the built-in mic elements protected when not in use, and the belt loop, boom pole sleeve, and key ring allow for additional mounting options.

question

Does the case accommodate the use of a dead cat on the microphone module?
Asked by: Stephen S.
Not 100%. I have the rycote and it works w/ the x/y but the unit does not allow the msh-6 module enough room to grip. Another diy job or rubber band solution here.

question

Is there space to have headphones plugged in while still keeping the case sealed?
Asked by: Debora
I don't really ever consider this case fully sealed from weather if that is what you are asking. More or less it is slightly protected but a lot of it seals with velcro meaning it isn't fully watertight or anything. I almost always have my headphones plugged in though, and it is just a velcro wall that opens a bit allowing you to access the headphone jack/buttons/ports.
