Concert 88 Camera Combo UHF Wireless System (Channel D) is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from So far..not good... OK..this is not an expensive system..and we had no expectations. We have used a single freq Samson wireless system for years..and with great success. SO...time for an upgrade...and thought, alright, we don't do often do high-stress, gotta get it, ENG shoots...so why not try a less expensive system. BONUS...both a lav and handheld included. So..first thing..we did some tests...direct line of site with the lav mic about 100 ft away from the receiver. Not bad...IF EVERYONE WAS STATIONARY. Any movement and the signal would drop out. We haven't tried a different frequency yet (it's a bit difficult to do..more about that in a moment) Ok, we have a shoot coming up...mic and receiver will be about 20 feet apart...should be fine. BUT...no, 20 minutes in the same dropouts reoccurred..and BOTH MICS WERE STATIONARY. We had a backup standalone recorder in place..so we had good audio in the end...but we were not impressed. Now, we will be testing further...changing freqs...and seeing if this system can be trusted. Incidentally, fregs are changed by using an IR transmission between receiver...and either mic or lav. So..pick the freg on the receiver...line it up with the IR eye on the mic or lav...and push the little button. AND HOPE IT WORKED. There is no readout on the lav or handheld that indicates the freqs are synced. You have to try a change..then confirm by testing. There is a green indicator light on the receiver that will light when reception is established between it and the mic or lav...but that's it. You know the freq on the receiver...you don't on the mic/lav...unless it works. So...there are other things we found to be not so good..somethings that were good. But none of that matters if the audio cuts out. So...beware...it's low cost..and in this case may not be worth the risk.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Eh This mic sounds ok but the build feels cheap. Connection is sketchy too. Not horrible. Not great
