Flex Lens Shade LL1 Overview

Keep unwanted light from hitting your lens by using the Flex Lens Shade for Large Lens. Designed for lenses 300mm and longer, the ballistic nylon shade attaches to lenses or hoods via the hook-and-loop fasteners, bending to your needs in order to block light that would otherwise create lens flare.

When you're shooting outdoors it can also act as a shield against rain, dust, and dirt. Not only can the Flex Lens Shade block light, it also has a highly reflective side, so it can attach to a flash and create a bounce for a bigger spread of light. Fold the Flex Lens Shade down over your lens to prevent scratches when not in use, and just lay flat for storage.

Large item, useful for a long lens shade or for shaping flash for macro work.

Strap is very long...

I misplaced my standard size Flex Shade for the 70-200 f/2.8 and 300 f/4 (it worked great), so decided to get the large/long lens model (now with white on one side for strobe reflection). Nice to have the extra square inches in the large size, but the strap is too long and inconvenient on these smaller lenses. I could easily trim the straps, but I'll likely leave as is for other uses, such as using with large strobes as shade or reflector. Will need to glue or staple a small piece of the appropriate Velcro to the body of the strap in order to secure the end after it wraps around my lens shade the extra time. I also hand-hold the shade when looking toward the sun (camera on a tripod); it works fine in place of my ball cap.

question

anyone use this shade on canon's 17tse?
Asked by: Jeff
I doubt it would work, since a wide angle lens would include it in the image. This for large lenses anyway.
