Pairing a favored focal length with a bright maximum aperture for flexible control, the black Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH. Lens is a standard wide-angle prime that is prized for image quality and refined optical design. Comprised of seven elements in five groups, and incorporating a single aspherical element, this lens eliminates nearly all distortions and spherical aberrations throughout the focusing range. This design also contributes to a high degree of sharpness, contrast, and clarity, and the f/2 maximum aperture enables working in difficult lighting conditions with ease. Additionally, an 11-blade aperture contributes to smooth out-of-focus rendering when working with selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques. Despite its wide-angle focal length and fast maximum aperture, this manual focus lens still remains relatively compact to benefit its use as an everyday, go-to lens for M shooters.

Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH. Reviews
superb lens, but what’s witH the hood design?
lens is fantastic, everything you expect of a summicron. however, the hood is so over engineered that it becomes annoying to use. there’s a metal ring you have to unscrew and keep somewhere, and the screw the hood in on the lens. you have to unscrew the hood to swap filters, screw the little ring back on if you want to remove the hood and reuse the leica supplied lens cap, etc. it’s a hassle so I ended up not using the hood. shame because it is very nicely made and a machining marvel. the lens, though, is fabulous.
Worth Every Penny!
Outperforms the third party lenses (Voigtlander and Zeiss) I've been using on my M11. The improved sharpness with this Summicron is very evident on my M11's higher resolutions. So, I've got a couple lenses for sale ;)
