Leica Geovid R Reviews

Saved me some unnecessary walking

I was hunting with a guide and he spotted a nice deer. I was able to find it with my binoculars with his direction. With one button push, I ranged it at 955 yards. He asked me to range a large rock that we could work our way to. I ranged it at 520 yards. Since we knew that over 400 yards was too far, we planned another route that put us 80 yards from the deer. At that range, the guide's rangefinder would work. I have a manual for these binoculars but I haven't opened it yet. I put in the battery and pushed the button to get it to range. It may do more, but that is all I need. Super simple to use.

Without reading the instructions, I had no problem using the range finder. Just push the button. I am sure that there are features that I could access, but the basic need is right there at a push of the range finding button. Of course, the binocular image is superb. It is very clear, much more so than my $300 Nikon binoculars.
