Can I assemble a 4'x4' frame from this kit? The math doesn't math: 2.75" corner + 46" + 2.75" corner = 51.5" sides, which is 3.5" larger than 4 feet. However, Westcott's Scrim Jim 4x4 uses 46" sections...so, I'm confused. I would love to be able to build 4x4, 4x6, and 6x6 frames from this one kit (one at a time, of course) that fit the Westcott rags.

The Westcott Scrim Jim Cine Video Kit (6' x 6') can be made 4' x 4' with the included parts. The fabrics are 6x6, so you will need to get a 4'x4' size of them.

How do these attach to stands for use as a overhead scrim {butterfly} ???
Asked by: Robert
There are a variety of ways to mount this. Most will use a Center Jaw Vise Clamp (Westcott part #1980) and place that into a Grip Head (Westcott Part #1881) which mounts to a light stand. In September of 2019, Westcott will be releasing the Scrim Jim Clamp to provide another mounting option. That part number will be Westcott #2080.

As per Wescott, the Scrim Jim Cine Frame is a modular system which you can customize the sizes with the provided for frame tubes. To attain the 4x 4' size when desired, simply use only the Westcott Scrim Jim Cine Frame Tube (46") (BH # WE2022) quantity of 4, and Westcott Scrim Jim Cine 2D Corner Frame Connector (BH #WE2024), quantity of 4, all of which are included in the kit of Westcott Scrim Jim Cine Video Kit (6 x 6') (BH #WE1691).

Hi, just wanted to confirm that this is exactly the same as the Scrim Jim Cine except that this comes with net, deluxe case (instead of regular), and 1 stop diffusion (instead of 3/4 stop diffusion)?

You are correct. With the 6x6 Scrim Jim Cine video kit, you receive the 6x6 frame, a 6x6 full stop diffusion, a 6x6 silver/white reversible bounce, and a 6x6 single net fabric. All of this comes in a heavy duty, wheeled carry case.
