Tether Tools RSTAA2 Overview

The Rock Solid 2-Head Cross Bar Side Arm from Tether Tools is designed to be used with the Tether Tools Rock Solid Tripod Cross Bar in order to create a variable height "T" setup. Mounting the side arm to the cross bar permits the user to adjust the height of a mounted camera up to 24" up or down. The side bar features two usable mounting points - one on top and one on the bottom for mid, high, or low-angle photography.

The side arm includes a custom fit carrying case for both travel and storage.

I wish it had more features

I am attaching the 2 head cross bar side arm to the 4 head tripod cross bar at one end and using it as a vertical element on which I placed my camera on top (for volume photography-schools). So, as different height students are being photographed, I can slide up or down my camera according to each student's height. I am not a fan of the mechanism that allows you to slide up or down the camera. It is not smooth at all. I wish there was a more smooth, controlled mechanism. It really slows you down as you try to photographed dozens of students waiting in line.

What are the weight limitations for this sidearm? What is the max load?

Weight Capacity: 18lbs (8.16kg). Note, the weight must be balanced for stability on the stand. A sandbag usually helps with this.

Yes, you will need to remove the ball head which will reveal a male 3/8 screw. The Cross Bar Side Arm mounts there.
