Like the scene in The Sandlot where kids play with a subpar baseball, this product failed at its first test—ripping as I opened the Velcro, reflecting poor stitching quality. I returned this item because I could not get it to stay on the Photek umbrella on top of the first diffuser. The first diffuser hooks onto the umbrella with holes on the edges and takes up all the room on each pin, if that makes sense. So theres no room on the pin for a second layer. Since I returned this, I have seen an example of this second diffusion panel affixed onto the Softlighter umbrella by the use of several binder clips, something I wouldve tried if I had thought of it.

If I want double diffusion on my Softlighter, is this item just another single level of diffusion that then doubles when placed over the original one or is this one actually double and I would really only need to use this one if I want double diffusion?
According to Photek's website, it's a second diffuser that goes over the first one. not a single double-strength diffuser.

Is the Photek 60" Double Diffuser compatible with other brands 60" umbrellas? Is it compatible with Photogenic 60" umbrella ?
The Photek Double Diffuser for Softlighter (60") does not work with third party umbrellas. It is only made for the Photeck Softlighter (60").
