I lost my prior model of this hood on vacation, Canon was out of stock and as well as a local shop. B&H had it in stock for a great price. Easy ordering and excellent shipping service.

I bought this for the RF 24-105 4-7.1, and it's very snug to twist into place when installed forward (normal), but does not lock; when installed backward it slides lightly, perfectly, into place and locks. that's the opposite of my other locking hoods. any ideas?

I appreciate the answers, but even Canon is at a loss as to why this is doing this. Sending it to them for evaluation, and the lens, too, if the hood proves okay. (BTW: with over 50 years of using Canon equipment I've never seen this problem before.

    question

    Is the hood reversible?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. I do this when storing the lens or lens/camera combo. I don't recommend it when using the lens as the focus and zoom rings are difficult or impossible to use when in this position.
