CyberPower RMCARD205 Reviews

Can be made to work but will make you suffer

This card is pretty terrible if you enable https. I had firmware 1.3.7 and installed a 4096 bit SSL cert. It just got stuck in a boot loop and had to pull it and factory reset it. I installed a 2048 bit cert and I was OK for a long time. The I installed firmware 1.4.0 and stuck in a boot loop again and had to factory reset it. The self-signed cert they autoconfigure is only 1024 bit so I created a 1024 bit cert and installed and it boots again now. I don't know if it's lack of RAM for the cards OS or what, but I've had this cards for months and I'm tired of factory resetting and configuring it because it has insufficient resources for a reasonable SSL cert. Edit: With the release of 1.4.1 I saw they supposedly fixed some issue with 2048 bit keys. I went to update via the web UI. It only half updated and wanted me to try updating again via the FTP method. Only problem is I had disabled FTP so I had to pull the card and factory reset it so FTP would be enabled in order to update it again. Once again it works, but I have to set it up AGAIN, so from 2 stars - 1. This card is a serious headache for a $200 accessory.

Pricy but the software is good

Much easier to configure on a Linux server than the standard Network UPS tools. Convenient web UI.
