Key Features
- Uninterruptible Power for a Camera
- 7.4V, 1,200mAh Lithium UPS Battery
- Powered by 5 VDC Power Source
- Internal Battery Allows Hot Swapping
Power your camera continually, and without interruption, with the ONsite Relay Camera Power System from Tether Tools. Equipped with a built-in 7.4V, 1,200mAh lithium battery and a 5 VDC input via USB, this system will provide power, while being connected to an external power source for a nearly constant source. When connected to a 2A USB battery pack or an AC adapter, the ONsite Relay can still be able to provide a constant supply of power to your camera, and thanks to the internal battery the system will support hot swapping of external power sources. An LED indicator light will shift from green to yellow to red to show battery percentage so that you will not accidentally lose power during a long time lapse or video production. This system is compatible with numerous camera systems through the use of a separately available coupler. This coupler fits into the battery compartment of your camera and acts as a dummy battery to supply power.

question
Will this product work with name brand DC couplers? For example, I have the Panasonic DMW-DCC8 and DMW-DCC6 couplers for my FZ1000 and FZ80 respectively... will this product plug into these DC couplers, or would I need to buy the DC couplers made by Tether Tools?
I have two of these that I run on GH5 and GH5s's using the Anker 13,000mah pack. I have only tested it with the Tether Tools adapter, but it sounds like it should work with the Panasonic adapter equally from what I read. I actually ran full tests just this week. On the GH5s at 4K/30p/100mbps with the display screen open/on, I shut it off when the Case Relay was red but still running at 7 hours and 50 minutes! I also tried on the GH5 and was getting around 7 hours or so. I ran the GH5 with the Panasonic XLR adapter and two SM81 mic's on phantom power and it ran for 6 1/2 hours continuous.

question
What is the order you use this system? To you have the external battery on first, then connect to relay, put dummy into camera then turn camera on? It's so temperamental, and when you set up for a 10 - 12 hour time-lapse, it needs to work the first time, overtime, otherwise, it's a waste of a day. Soem assistance here would be greatly appreciated.Using a 2.1 Amp power pack with a sony A7rii. Cheers
First you must ensure the case relay battery is charged FIRST. If you don't your camera can shut down prematurely. It happened to me the first time I used it for an important shoot. Make sure that your external battery is fully charged too. I used the Tether Tools battery https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1235869-REG/tether_tools_rsbp10_rock_solid_10_000_mah.html I ran my Nikon D500 for about 5 1/2 hours continuously with the live view on in 4K video mode. That draws more power than if you were doing time-lapse. Put your dummy battery into the camera first, then connect the case relay battery to the dummy battery connection, then connect your external usb battery to the case relay battery. If you have more than one external usb battery you should be able to swap it out when the first one runs down.
