Hoya EVO Overview

The Hoya 86mm EVO Antistatic Circular Polarizer Filter helps reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and autoexposure functions.

The EVO antistatic coating on this filter helps repel dust, as well as water, scratches, and stains, and it aids in making the substrate easy to clean. Additionally, a 16-layer Super Multi-Coating helps reduce surface reflections and ghosting for maintained contrast and clarity. The optical glass filter is set within a two-piece aluminum ring, which features front threads for attaching additional filters or lens caps.

question

What's the difference between the Hoya EVO line and FUSION line of circular polarizers? This is very confusing.
Asked by: Michael
The EVO series are designed for sale in the US markets, while the Fusion line is sold outside the US. There is no difference between the two filter lines physically.
