question

Can anyone who owned this tripod tell us the folded length and weight, please? B&H lists it as 13.2 and 2lbs, but Sirui's site says 12.2 1.5 lbs. (I'm considering this and the Oben CT-3535 for a trip to Japan.) Thanks!

Yes, with the platform head it is 13.3'' inch, and the weight is 2 lbs-ish.

question

Does the QR plate attach to the camera via a screw or a ring?
Asked by: Peter C.
With a Screw. I find this is an excellent tripod, incidentally. With decent technique, will be solid, at less than a third the weight of my Gitzo.

question

Will this fit inside the Peak Design backpack so I can have access from the side zipper without completly remove the two divider inside?
Asked by: Yanick D.
I should have this answer in a couple of days. I had high hopes for the PD backpacks; I backed/bought both. But I have become a bit disenchanted. The design seems better suited to compact cameras and kit. Although I traveled with a D600 recently, including a 28-200 lens, SB900 flash, RRS flash bracket, and a few other items, the 20L was jammed to the gills, and could not accommodate a modest RRS tripod, even on the side. I am not sanguine about fitting any of these lenses even in the 30L, and having the right sort of protection for them. But I will report back once I have the Otus in hand.

question

B&H's product specs for this item show the maximum load as 8.8 lbs, but Sirui's website shows 13.2 lbs. Which is correct?
Asked by: Ravi K.
Keep in mind that this is a very, very light weight (less than 2 lbs.), very, very compact (1-ft long folded) tripod ideal for travel. It would likely hold 8.8 lbs. if legs were not extended, but in my opinion would be taxing stability limit. Would suggest using with light weight camera say 1 lbs. or so.
