Is it possible to mount this to a cage or other ...

Is it possible to mount this to a cage or other mounting method without the handle, and if so what type of connection does it use?
Asked by: Aaron
So for the record I purchased the older version of this blimp (Rycote S-series) used which uses the same handle mounting method. If you disconnect the handle from the thin plate of metal coming down from the blimp the plate has 7 holes in it. The middle hole which the handle bolts onto is too small for a 1/4-20 thread, but the 6 larger holes ringing it are bigger than a 1/4-20 thread and can be attached to one using a 1/4-20 nut. This allows easy (and low profile) mounting to the side of a camera cage.

Would the shock mount in this kit be good to use by itself, or is it best to use a different shock mount if not intending to use the blimp?
Asked by: Beau
The shock mount included in this blimp kit is very good, and would be find to be used on its own.

Can an Audio Technica BP4025 be used in this blimp?
Asked by: Alberto T.
The Audio-Technica BP4025 is a front-heavy stereo mic that does not have a specific blimp made for it, but the mic will fit into this Rycote Super Blimp. I would also consider the Rycote Baby Ball Gag Windshield, B&H # RYBBG20 , with a Rycote Windjammer for Baby Ball Gag Windshield, B&H # RYBBGWJ and a shock mount, such as the Rycote Universal Shotgun Mount for Cameras and Boom Poles, B&H # RYUSGM.

Can the blip be mounted on camera hot shoe?

Can the blip be mounted on camera hot shoe?
Asked by: Uday
The threading on the bottom of the Rycote 010323 can technically be used to adapt to a camera hot shoe, like the WindTech CM-38 Photo Hot Shoe to 3/8"-16 Male Adapter B&H # WICM38), but it is not made for that and not ideal, as the Rycote 010323 tends to be on the bulky side, the weight offset that it would create may present an issue and it may also interfere with handling other components on your camera rig. The Rycote 010323 and other blimps are most often used on a boom pole, either handled by a boom pole operator in a field set up, or mounted to a boom pole and light stand, in a stationary set up.
