D230 Super Clamp Grip Head (Black) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than super clamp + extension arm This is a Manfrotto super clam and Avenger grip head in one piece, but the angle of grip head in relation to the clamp is different from the combination of a super clamp and an extension arm. If you take two pieces of the latter combination and combine, you get too many knobs in wrong orientations that interfere and not easy to control, and there will be a stud held in place by friction that slides down all the time. If you want to hang an extension arm on post (like Manfrotto Autopole), use this one with a Manfrotto boom arm, and don't try to save a few bucks by buying super clamp and extension arm separately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you don't own one, buy two I use the D230 - Super Clamp Grip Head by Avenger any time that I need to clamp a light modifier to anything. This thing clamps on anything and holds fast - period. One use for me is between a light stand and a Photoflex TELESCOPIC LITEDISC HOLDER - PHLDHT to hold a lower reflector up for doing butterfly or horizontal split lighting when I am using the top lightstand lug for an upper holder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful I had occasion to set up a bridge for lighting a small concert recently and used this clamp to mount a mic on a short boom to the bridge along with the lights. It's really versatile, and of course it separates into two pieces so it gives you an additional super clamp when needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like an extra pair of hands This clamp is great! Attached to a light stand, it enables me to place a reflector below and beauty dish above for a great clamshell effect. Not sure how I got by without it. One less stand in the studio means lots of extra room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than you expect Wow! You could tie this to a construction crane and use it as a wrecking ball. The photo doesn't do this thing justice. HEAVY. DUTY.Seriously, the thing is a force to be reckoned with. EXTREMELY tight grip. Not to disappoint.Only thing to keep in mind is that it is a little large, so it might be hard to sneak it into tight spots. But, other than minor tips like that, nothing bad to say. Money well spent. I will likely pick up another one or two in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Cool This is a great grip head - you can use it as a plain super clamp or you can use it with a grip head attached - super cool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what everyone needs This is one of those tools you can use for almost any application which involves attachment of a mount. It serves to hold about anything, even a ball head for the camera if needed. Nicely constructed, easy to use. Good to have around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I use this regularly with a c-stand and short boom pole to hold a Mic for home studio recording, and on video/film set with close ups where the talent doesn't move and it works incredibly well... you'll want more than one.
