I made the mistake of purchasing a cheaper alternative and the grip head wiggles on the clamp. Is this an issue with these too?
When the grip head is tighten down on the Avenger D230 Super Clamp Grip Head (Black) it does not move. It is very well made.

Will this work? I want to use the clamp side to ...
Will this work? I want to use the clamp side to go onto a c stand and the other side to attach to a 6'x6' diffusion. I want to be able to adjust the clamp to get certain angles. Hope this makes sense.
This clamp would not be ideal for that. It would be better to use a End jaw and Grip head.

Can you use this to hold a monopod in place in a tight area
Not that I can envision with my monopods. Yes, you could use the clamp to grip onto something but by itself the other side of the Avenger is only suitable for small diameter shafts like a gobo or a C-stand stud. The diameter of all my monopods are way too big to fit the knuckle-end of the Avenger D2
