Need an instruction before the setting up

First i was thinking that the zeiss lens gear (mini) doesn't fit my zeiss loxia 35mm as well as zeiss loxia 50mm and was a bit confused about that cause lens gear was to big for the lens, but after couple days of thinking what can be wrong with the device I realized that you need to screw it in I mean you need to rotate the ring with the battlement and the radius of the ring ig getting smaller so you can attach it properly to the loxia lens. Huh, zeiss need to put the paper manual for it or print the QR code with the instructions how to attach the lens gear to the lens properly.

I can say with confidence that the other reviewer is completely incorrect and that these fit perfect. I have 3 of these and I put them on each of my loxias. They fit perfect once the gum-gum is attached and they in no way budge whatsoever. The quality is fantastic and though the price is high, it's worth it. Either the other reviewer didn't apply the gum-gum correctly or had his rings facing the wrong way for the loxia series? I am not sure what's going on with theirs, but I can tell you that my version gets so tight that there is absolutely no way it will even budge in the slightest once you have it tightened all the way.

doesn't fit loxia series

I've tried it on my 21, 35, and 50mm Loxia lenses and it's too loose, even when it has the rubber tape and it's cranked all the way tight. Will be returning, disappointed that I had this on backorder for months.

Perfect - bought one for each of my Loxias.

These are perfect for Loxia lenses. I bought 4 for all of mine (still waiting for the pre-ordered 85mm F2.4) for video work with A7Sii and eventually with FS5. Using the rings with Edelkrone Focus One and they do the job perfectly - as close as you can get to a true cine setup. Absurdly expensive but as professional as it gets for these types of applications. I occasionally use Loxias for photo work too and I actually prefer to leave these rings on all the time even for photo work as the Loxias are just too small for my hands to comfortably focus and these rings are wonderful even for focusing with bare hands - much better grip, especially if you wear gloves in cold weather.

I retract my previous bad review!

When it first arrived, it was too loose for my Loxia lenses. I sent it to Zeiss in NY, and honestly i'm not sure what they did, but it works perfectly now. I think maybe the gumgum that came with it was too small or something...

The most beautifully crafted lens gear I have come across other than having your lens professionally cine-modded. The other reviewer saying it did not fit snug had to have ordered the wrong size or put the gum-gum on incorrectly. Works perfect on my Loxia. Once this is tightened on your lens, there is no way humanly possible you can move it in the slightest. Pricey, but in this situation it's actually worth it.

The most professional solution for your Loxia glass

This guy who wrote the negative review either ordered the wrong sized gear or applied the rubber strip (Zeiss calls is a silly gum gum) to the wrong way (pretty hard to do it wrong!). I have 3 of these and all fit the Loxias perfectly fine, very tight and secure. It does look like the gears would too big until you screw the on properly. Work like a charm. I'm now using these on all 3 currently available Loxias and will be buying another one once the rumored 4th Loxia comes out. The gears work flawlessly with 2 different follow focus systems I use with various drive gear sizes. Other than the cost and added bulk due to tightening ring these are the highest grade cine gears available.

Can this be easily removed? Or is it a semi-permanent installation? Can I take it on and off easily?
Asked by: Joshua
The ZEISS Lens Gear (Mini) are slid onto the lens and attached to the focus ring of the lens simply by turning the two counteracting rings. This means the ZEISS Lens Gears can be attached in a flash and the design is tool less so it can be removed quickly.

question

Is that gear fit for work on the Leica R lens? 21mm f4.028mm f2.835mm f2.050mm f2.090mm f2.0135mm f2.8
Asked by: RADICAL
These rings are designed for the Otus, Milvus and Loxia line of modern Zeiss lenses. That being said, all of the Leica R lenses you list except the 90mm f/2.0 are within the size limits of the rings. Therefore it is possible that they will work. However, seeing that this combination is unknown, we have to say you will be proceeding on your own recognizance.

question

Does this fit the Sony 18-105mm f/4 G OSS?
Asked by: Marc Lyon G.
This gear may be too small for the 18-105mm, plus it is meant for specific Zeiss lenses. Instead we recommend something like the Wide Open Camera Universal Lens Gear, this will work with the 18-105mm.https://bhpho.to/2mtNn2G
