FotodioX MFT-SNYE Overview

This Lens Mount Adapter from Fotodiox enables the use of your Micro Four Thirds lenses on Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. It features a durable aluminum-alloy construction and its design also maintains infinity focus.

This manual adapter does not maintain automatic lens control between the camera and lens; aperture priority or manual shooting modes should be used, as well as stop-down metering for exposure control. Additionally, due to the smaller image circle of Micro Four Thirds lenses, vignetting will likely occur on both APS-C and full-frame format sensors.

It works perfectly on my Sony a6400 camera body and my Rokinon 35mm T1.4 MFT lens which I did believe I was gonna see an adaptor for it. The shipping was great and I have made like 4 purchase with B&H and their very reliable. I personally prefer B&H over Amazon any time of the day.

Not great, but 5 stars because it is hard to do this right

The flange focal distance difference between MFT and Emount is ridiculously small, making an adapter very had to make. This adapter is not perfect, but kudos to FotodioX for even trying. On my adapter, the lens was held loosely, but this can be fixed rather easily. On the inside of the mount, there is a springy area created by a thin slot in the tabs that hold the lens in. You an insert a small flat head screwdriver and slightly bend out the spring tab that will create a tighter fit with the lens. If the flange could be thicker i'm sure they would have done it differently, but given the physical limitations this is a great adapter.

This works really well.

I was surprised how well this worked. Worth trying on your manual focus lenses.

It jammed on my a7rii, hope I didn't break the camera forcing it off.

Not for the Sony FS7

There's nothing about this adapter that inspires confidence. It's thin, it's cheap, but you get what you pay for. The adapter ring did not hold up against the lens lock mechanism on the FS7. Metal shavings all over the place. The SLR Magic Anamorphic lens we used with this adapter was impossible to focus. Not sure if there was gap issue or what... but the lens did perform perfectly on a GH5.

The FotodioX Lens mount adapter works perfectly. Lens mounts correctly and the focus to infinity is correct.

Unusable

Creates a barrel vignette on the camera. Unusable on my fx6 unless you are doing a documentary on bullets.

Following up on my last Q. I believe all Olympus (and Panasonic?) AF lenses are "focus by wire". Is it physically possible to manually focus such lenses when mounted on this adapter? I would think not. If not, there are very few MFT lenses that can be used with this adapter. Correct?
Asked by: Dan
If the Micro Four Third mount lens you use uses focus-by-wire, I do not believe it would allow you to focus the lens using the FotodioX Lens Mount Adapter listed above as I believe electronic communication is required for adjusting focus-by-wire lenses. However, if you have a full manual-focus lens or if your lens uses mechanical coupling for focus purposes, then those should offer compatibility with the above lens mount adapter.

Can I manually focus an AF Olympus MFT lens with this adapter, or is it useless with anything other than fully manual lenses? I don't care so much about the aperture as I intend to shoot wide open all the time.
Asked by: Dan
The adapter is manual focus only. Additionally, due to the smaller image circle of Micro Four Thirds lenses, vignetting will likely occur on both APS-C and full-frame format sensors.

Asked by: Loko S.
The 6300 use e mount leses, it will, but you will have no autofocus and no electronic communication at all. I been using this adapter for mounting veydra lenses on a sony a 7s and works fine, a little bit loose but works.
