ASUS PG348Q overview

  • 1Description

The Republic of Gamers Swift PG348Q 34" 21:9 Curved Ultra-Wide G-Sync IPS Monitor from Asus features a curved, ultra-wide display that's suitable for both work and play. For work and multitasking purposes, an ultra-wide display lets you have multiple windows side by side, or one large window where you can see all the details. On the other hand, gaming on this display will feel more immersive as the curved sides wrap around your field of view, putting you right in the middle of the action.

With a 3440 x 1440 QHD resolution, the Swift PG348Q provides you with crisp and clear pictures. It is constructed with an In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel that has wide viewing angles and immersive colors. Combined with a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 300 cd/m² brightness rating, 10-bit color support, and a 5 ms response time, you'll be able to enjoy vivid, lag-free content reproduction with darker blacks and brighter bright colors.

Furthermore, this monitor supports NVIDIA G-Sync technology through DisplayPort, which synchronizes your graphics card with the display to output content at variable refresh rates, eliminating screen stuttering and tearing. It also has four USB 3.0 Type-A ports so you can connect peripherals and mobile devices. Connect this display to your system via DisplayPort or HDMI, then tilt, swivel, and adjust its height to your viewing preference. Otherwise, you can install a different mount or stand using the VESA mounting pattern holes on the back.

Curved, Ultra-Wide Display
The curved, ultra-wide screen allows you to multitask more efficiently than before. Have up to three windows side by side or even work on large Excel spreadsheets without having to scroll.
Frameless Edge Design
The PG348Q features a nearly frameless design, ideal for multi-display setups and an even greater degree of immersion.
Ultra-Low Blue Light Technology
ASUS Ultra-low Blue Light technology filters blue light to protect your eyes. You can easily access and select four different filter settings onscreen through the 5-way joystick.

  • Level 1 - Web Browsing
  • Level 2 - Video Viewing
  • Level 3 - Reading
  • Level 4 - Dark Room
Flicker-Free Technology
Flicker-Free technology minimizes flickering to reduce eyestrain and other damaging effects for long gaming sessions.
Smart Air Vent Design
The ROG Swift PG348Q has a large heatsink that ensures it stays cool during long gaming sessions. It operates without a fan so it stays silent and maintenance-free.

Seamless Gameplay

G-Sync Support
With NVIDIA G-Sync technology, the monitor's refresh rate will sync and lock with the graphics card's output frame rate. Establishing this sync removes tearing and stuttering which can result from conventional fixed screen refresh rates, especially important for gaming in stereoscopic 3D. An additional benefit of G-Sync is reduced lag so gamers will benefit from the improved command response time as well.
Fast 100 Hz Refresh Rate
A 100 Hz refresh rate eliminates lag and motion blur making first person shooters, racing, real-time strategy, and sports games feel more fluid. 60 Hz is recommended for games that are slower paced, whereas a 100 Hz refresh rate is more suited for games which have a lot of fast motion and actions. For smooth gameplay, G-Sync requires a GeForce GTX 980Ti and above to overclock the refresh rate up to 100 Hz.
Turbo Key
The ROG Swift PG348Q has a Turbo Key that lets you toggle refresh rates on-the-fly without having to access the graphics control panel. With it, you can quickly switch from 60 to 100 Hz in the middle of the game for smoother gameplay.

Game-Centric Enhancements

GamePlus Technology
ASUS GamePlus technology offers a few features to enhance your gameplay.

  • Crosshair - Choose between four persistent crosshairs and fine tune its position for pinpoint accuracy even if the game doesn't have its own crosshairs or sights.
  • Timer - Keep track of recurring drops, respawns, and other time-based events with the on-screen timer. You can also move it anywhere on the screen so it doesn't interfere with the in-game HUD.
  • FPS Counter - Check how many frames are being drawn by the display. This can be used to evaluate the performance impact of different graphical settings and system configurations so you can fine-tune the balance between visuals and performance. The FPS counter can be activated while G-SYNC is on.
GameVisual Technology
ASUS GameVisual Technology offers six preset display modes to optimize visuals for different types of content.

  • RTS/RPG - Enhances color saturation and contrast sharpness to give you better, brighter colors and detailed visuals for real-time strategy (RTS) or RPG games.
  • FPS - High contrast settings enhance the visibility even in dark scenes so you can clearly see your enemies.
  • sRGB - For viewing photos and graphics online.
  • Scenery - Provides a greater brightness range and introduces more contrast gradations. It tweaks color saturation for greens and blues, making it suitable for viewing photos and videos with scenery.
  • Racing - Reduces input lag, making it suitable for racing games when G-SYNC is on.
  • Cinema - Enhances contrast and color saturation for lively, vivid visuals suitable for viewing movies.

    ASUS PG348Q reviews

Republic of Gamers Swift PG348Q 34" 21:9 Curved Ultra-Wide G-Sync IPS Monitor is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent experience, bad backlight bleed When you read all the stories about bad backlight bleed on these monitors, believe it. If you can live with that, this is an excellent monitor. I went with the Ultrawide instead of a 4K monitor because I'm transitioning from a 3 monitor setup. This monitor is beautiful to look at and the G-Sync really works well. My only disappointment is with the extreme backlight bleed. I had read a comment by Asus somewhere while doing pre-purchase research that they now check each monitor in a dark room for backlight bleed. I don't believe it. As bad as the bleed is on a black screen, I don't notice it on a normally lit screen so I think I can live with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from - Phenomenal Experience - Gaming on this monitor, in a format of 21:9, is a truly unique experience! Gsync definitely amplifies the quality, rendering the use of the monitor simply a pleasure to the eyes. Only flows, the speakers - useless. Absolutely no use for the speakers, and they should be removed from future models, as it would probably bring the cost down a little bit. Speaking of cost, that is another downside of this unit. Hefty price tag. Lastly, IPS glow in the corners, especially (in my case) top left. While it is expected for some, give that it is a IPS panel after all, I wish it would be greatly reduced, for such a steep price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Godly monitor Bought this monitor last week, when it arrived at my doorstep and saw the box, i was OMG it's huge. Had to actually switch from a 3 monitor set-up to a 2 monitor due to it's sheer size. It's a beauty of a monitor, both in aesthetics and in image quality. Some light bleeding on the bottom right edge, but nothing major. Only thing i can critisize about it, is the ROG logo hologram. It doesn't turn off automatically when i switch off the pc, i have to switch off the monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing monitor Been using this for a couple week now and it is incredible. I'm using this with a dell 2560x1440 ISP monitor in a dual monitor setup, but this is obviously my main gaming screen now. I've had zero problems with my unit. There's some small IPS glow at the edges but it's actually less than my other IPS; it's not a real problem, just a by product of the tech. Gaming at 21:9 is FANTASTIC and a transformative experience. At this point, I would take this experience over VR; VR is great but it's got a ways to go, maybe in 4-5 it will be ready but this is by far the better experience. Just remember you need a lot of space because it's pretty large and to place the screen at the right distance from your eyes because the curve DOES make a difference but the edges needs to be at the correct distance, once you get it setup, it's amazing. Overall it's the best high-end gaming monitor on the market; so if you have the GPU power to push it, it's absolutely worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Squeeeeee! This is just such a gorgeous screen! I absolutely love it! I wish I could tell my brain not to get used to it so quickly. I have it hooked up to a 1080 Ti, and set it to overdrive 100Hz refresh using the included DP cable. Most games adapt really well to the ultra-wide real estate, though I've had one crash on Torchlight II. That quickly recovered on the next launch though. I have to put this thing through its paces on more demanding games, and I want to play with the calibrations some more, but so far, this thing is amazing! Will update if I run into any unforeseen things.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow, not just a great monitor, but great service from B&H! There are only 2 real choices for gaming monitors that are a) 34 b) Ultrawide c) G-Sync d) 100 refresh rate. I was going to go with the other, though when I read that this one was 100 out of the box without need to overclock (which I read with the other had some issues) It was a no brainer. Also, great thing about B&H and there staff - I was able to ask and get some quality answers to techy questions. But what really sold me in the end was seeing that the other model had items on sale that were returns, though this had none - logic being if no one was returning this model, it must be good! Also, living out of state so no Tax, and also free shipping... best deal there is.. from a legit vender (p.s. watch for eBay and amazon, there are some shady resellers there as such large networks) Oh, and the monitor, just as advertised, worked right out of the box and blew me away with picture quality. I really do not notice the curve, but that was not one of the reasons for buying so cool with that! =)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best gaming monitor By far the best gaming monitor I've ever owned. I feel the high price is justified as you'll not find a monitor with better features, great performance and fantastic color correctness. You may need to tweek certain games for Ultra wide however that's not too involved and i had no issues. If you can afford the price tag I'd say it's worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I waffled back and forth on getting this monitor vs their 4k PG27AQ monitor. What sold me on it was seeing screen shots of how games looked in Ultra Wide. The field of view you get is phenomenal. Games will give you this extra field of view to the sides and it makes them so immersive. Best decision I have ever made for my PC was this monitor. Even if you don't get this one, get an Ultra Wide for gaming, you need it.
