This aluminum Impact Air-Cushioned Light Stand rises to a height of 8' and folds down to 29.6". The stand has sure-twist section locks and 4 sections and will support up to 8 lb.

    I bought these as smaller alternatives to my typical Manfrotto 1004BACs and they fit the bill perfectly! Definitely lighter weight construction and a bit shorter (as expected), but incredibly compact. I'll definitely be adding a few more to my arsenal soon!

    Yes, it will but if you put a modifier on the light, the stand might require a sandbag.

    Can this really only hold up to 8lbs? I'd like to mount a GVM 100W with 26'' lantern on top. (likely 8 lbs total). Would it collapse? I'm not worried about it tipping over because I have sandbags. But would it collapse?

    The Impact Air-Cushioned Light Stand (Black, 8') has a 1/4"-20 male thread on the top of the light stand. If your wireless transmitter has a female 1/4"-20 threaded socket, then you may screw the wireless transmitter directly onto the male 1/4"-20 thread on the top of the light stand. If your transmitter does not have a female 1/4"-20 threaded socket, but it does have a hot shoe/cold shoe, you may purchase an adapter such as the Vello Cold Shoe Mount with 1/4" Thread, B&H # VECS20, for your usage needs. Finally, if your transmitter includes a lanyard, you may hang the transmitter from one of the locking knobs on the light stand riser.
