360fly FLYC4KC01BEN overview

  • 1Description

True to its spherical shape, the 360fly 4K is a compact camera capable of capturing and streaming a spherical view of the world around you. Unlike multi-camera spherical rigs, the 360fly 4K uses a single, 240° fisheye lens to capture a wrap-around view of your surroundings without having to stitch separate video files together in post. It also offers an immersive 190° field of view in POV mode.

The camera's 16MP sensor supports 2880 x 2880 video at 30 fps, with video recorded to 64GB of internal storage. The camera features a soft, non-slip exterior coating and is resistant to light rain, splashes, dust, and drops from up to 4.9'. Additional features include motion-audio-activated recording, time-lapse mode, built-in gyroscope, and non-assisted GPS.

The camera works in concert with the free 360fly app for both iOS and Android. Once the app is installed on your phone, you'll use it as your all-in-one viewfinder, remote, and editing device, and instantly upload interactive 360° edits directly to Facebook and YouTube. You also have the ability to create and share 16:9 edits and panoramic stills for sites that aren't compatible with 360° files. Additionally, you can stream 360° video live via the free Livit mobile app.

Note: This camera records 360° horizontally, but not vertically. As a result, there will be a blind spot at the bottom of your 360° video.

    360fly FLYC4KC01BEN reviews

4K Video Camera is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from one of the best I recently go my 360fly 4K cam. It's a very good cam, although it has only one lens that covers 240 degrees only. It has a very decent mobile application and desktop application. Battery life is very good and plenty of storage. I didn't its tolerance to water yet, however i mounted it on a drone and I got superb arial footage. I would have given a 4stars rating, but after trying the Kodak 360 pixpro which has the most useless and complicated mobile and desktop applications, i decided to give the 360fly 4K a well deserved 5 stars. I am looking forward to try the Nikon Keymission once available, since it has 2 lenses and can provide a full 360 degree.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Their Director software doesn't work on Windows 10 I read all the reviews, tried to make my best choice and while this is an immature product category, I can safely say that until their Director software is fixed this is one product to avoid. I tried through lots of help threads and could never load one single video out of 35 into their software, although it would load into VLC and play just fine. While I wasn't thrilled about the image quality or the single camera approach I could have lived with it if I just could have found software that works. They would not suggest an alternative software and workflow, although I did play around with Blender and Youtube. Stills worked.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Warning: YouTube & Facebook Distort 360Fly I like a lot of things about this camera but there's a major compatibility issue with YouTube and other social media channels. While footage from other 360 cameras can be uploaded to YouTube with full functionality, footage from the 360fly 4k camera gets distorted when its uploaded to YT. 360fly calls 2880x2880 it's 4k video...which doesn't make sense because it's not 4000 pixels in either direction. But what's worse is that youtube displays 360fly video at 1440 - which means all the video is zoomed in. This not only lowers the resolution but it also means half of what is captured by the camera is cropped off. 360fly support washes its hands of this problem and says - talk to YouTube. ...which is a bummer and a bit weak.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cool, but not there yet... Wanted to use this for 'poker on air' broadcasting in 360. It has limitations that I cannot use it. I was able to record, save it as an editable file in adobe premier, superimpose a green screen of the cards/player names/percentage to win/stack size into the video, but it was real work. The 360K Fly only has a charge of between an hour and a half and two hours and cannot have a charge fed to it, you can only record to the internal memory which is limited to 2 hours. It is much easier to use right side up than upside down. I had video issue. The editing software really wasn't anything more than cut/copy/paste/save but future updates may make it useable for editing. I would recommend an external mic for anything professonal. The quality wasn't bad, quite impressed to tell the truth. It's a heavy little thing and it gets pretty hot for some reason. Downloading to a computer took a while for large files. It gives promise to the future of 360 video but this did not meet our needs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Product 8 Customer Experience 2 I was sort of annoyed with the packaging, too clumsy to start with. The product itself is a good finish and looks the part, thank you for the protective jacket. But would have loved a hard care similar to a GoPro to protect that big nice lens (some serious AR coating). Picture and video quality is good, comparable to other action cameras. The desktop version of the application is relatively simple with very few editing options but cuts the deal for me. The iOS app is hopeless, unfinished and would not allow upload of interactive stills to FB. I haven't used it underwater yet, but I can already see some drawbacks of trying to maintain orientation. Overall, I could have rated it higher, only if the iOS app worked.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Battery is Bad, and no replacement unless spend $ First let me say the camera itself is good. The wide angle is great for covering action near the camera. action away from camera, not so great. The reason I am writing this review is because of the battery in the unit. It seems to work well over the course of a year (warranty) but after that, the life drops off quickly. If you need to replace it, you need to sent it to 360fly and it will cost you over half of a new camera. They will not make the battery available to the consumer even though the battery is easily replaceable. It is also a custom battery from EVE and they do not sell direct to consumers. Be warned, the camera will shoot great for a little over a year and then you are at the mercy of the battery gods if your unit lasts any longer. I would not recommend this unit if you plan to keep using it longer than a year.
