Expiration Date is usally printed on the box, not sure if it's on the actual cartridge. Usually 6mos or so. I have been given mixed answers about expired inks. Some say they're fine but if you have a printer problem it could void any warranty you might have. I have used them at times with no issues. Also depends on how critical the prints are. If you're making certified proofs for print I would be hesitant to use them.

If properly sealed, the ink should easily last for more than a year when stored appropriately. As for opened ink, the cartridges should be installed, and the Canon large format printer should be left on. That way the Canon large format printer will perform an electronic nozzle check periodically to maintain the cartridge. It uses only a small amount of ink to do that, and that process does keep the ink fresh and usable indefinitely. (Please note that this comment does not necessarily apply to non Canon or non large format printers.)

If this ink actually freezes, it will separate. I would NOT recommend having it shipped to a location where it will be left outside in temps below freezing. Ship it to a location where it can be received indors, like your place of work (if allowed) or a UPS Access Point or FedEx Pickup point.
