Switchcraft 318BT Overview

The Switchcraft 318BT is a small in-line wireless audio receiver that makes it quick and simple to connect audio from mobile devices to your audio gear without physical cables.

It utilizes Bluetooth 4.0 technology to stream audio from any Bluetooth-enabled device straight to your mixer or audio console with low latency and up to a distance of 100'.

The unit utilizes 48V phantom power, but if your device/mixer doesn't have phantom power, the 318BT can be powered from external power via the micro-USB port. The 16-bit DAC delivers a high-quality audio signal with its output summed to mono (balanced).

Made in the USA and featuring a durable anodized-aluminum enclosure with a Switchcraft XLR connector, the 318BT is built to withstand the rigors of commercial and residential environments.

Use this for music playback during live events. Definitely a good move for anyone who's sick of keeping track of USB headphone dongles. Sound quality & range are both good. Definitely worth the cash if you need to run music through full sound systems on a regular basis.

Does it reconnect automatically? For a pro ...

Does it reconnect automatically? For a pro device, I need it to only connect when I tell it to, and never for a phone call.

Yes, the Switchcraft 318BT Phantom-Powered Bluetooth Audio Receiver will automatically find and reconnect to paired devices. If you don't want it to automatically reconnect to a paired device, you can delete the 318BT from the Bluetooth profile of the paired transmitting device and pair it again when you want to use it or turn off the Bluetooth on that device when in the vicinity of the 318BT.

What about security? Can anyone jump on the Bluetooth at anytime?

The Switchcraft 318BT Phantom-Powered Bluetooth Audio Receiver can stream audio from only one Bluetooth-enabled device at a time, but transmission over Bluetooth may not be secure.

Yes it does! Each device has a unique ID number at the end of the device name that shows up while pairing so you can use multiple devices in the same area and easily differentiate between them.
