mio2 MIDI Problem Solver is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A bargain for the merger alone The Mio2 arrived within a couple of days of ordering. It's designed to allow filtering, routing, merging, and rechannelization between its DIN and USB MIDI connections. I bought it for use as a simple merge device. It's solidly built, powered through one of the two (yup, that's two) USB ports. It claims, but I have not tested, the ability connect to two simultaneous computers as a MIDI interface. I only connected a single computer long enough to set the two DIN MIDI inputs to merge and then be distributed to the two DIN MIDI outputs. The operation took perhaps five minutes. The settings are saved in non-volatile memory, so computer access is only required once. I only found two negatives in this product: (1) While the DIN connections are on the back, the USB connections are on the front. The only way to power the unit is through the USB port, so it is necessary to have cables going out from two sides, a slight inconvenience. (2) The manual, like many technical manuals nowadays, is a little low on information. I still haven't figured out how they count ten (10) physical and virtual MIDI interfaces. Due to those very minor negatives, I downgraded it to 4 stars, but I would recommend the unit (or purchase another) without hesitation.
