Une major disadvantage is that it will no allow updating the firmware of the S lenses. The firmware must be updated with a Leica S Typ 007. After the firmware is updated the adapter and S lens work jus as expected with the Leica SL2

The 100mm S lens is a 100mm on an SL/SL2/SL2-S. It’s an 80mm on the S models.

Since this adapter mounts medium-format glass on a full-frame body, is it also working like a focal reducer?
No, the Leica S-Adapter L for SL Camera, BH #LESADPL, will not work as a focal reducer. There is no lens element in the adapter. It is simply designed to use S glass on L-mount cameras like the Leica SL system.
