What size is the thread, 3/8" or 5/8"? I assume 3/8"-16, which is what I want, but I don't want to have to adapt it.
It has an included, removable thread that allows for both 3/8 or 5/8" connection.

The RODE SM4-R Suspension Shockmount (BH # ROSM4R) is compatible with the M5, NT5, NT55, NTG1, NTG2, NTG3, NTG4, and NTG4+ microphones. It will not accommodate a RODE NT4 X/Y Stereo Condenser Microphone (BH # RONT4).

Yes it can, If the mic is a longer shotgun one, I use ith with a smaller senal mic with dead cat with no problems

Can the Lyre Mounts be moved closer together for a small mic, like the Sanken CS-M1?
Yes, the lyre mounts on the RODE SM4-R Suspension Shockmount can be moved closer together. There are two additional threads inside of the open slots which can be used to attach the lyres.
