It is best to stick with the Gopro branded adapters because Gopro can guarantee their performance. This doesn't mean that 3rd party options do not work. But I can say that the Gopro branded accessories are tested extensively by Gopro themselves to guarantee the best performance while 3rd party accessories typically are not.

We're afraid not. This has a USB-C connection that does not work with the Hero Session. It will work with the Hero5 Session though.
