Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Overview

An evolution of the tested DX telephoto zoom, the AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED from Nikon is a 105-450mm-equivalent lens featuring an updated focusing mechanism along with a compact form factor. One extra-low dispersion element is used in the optical design to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range in order to maintain image clarity. A Super Integrated Coating has also been applied to minimize reflections and flare for greater contrast. Suiting both photo and video applications, the AF-P designation indicates the use of a pulse stepping motor that offers notably quiet, fast, and precise autofocus performance.

Telephoto zoom is designed for DX-format Nikon F-mount cameras and provides a 105-450mm equivalent focal length.
One extra-low dispersion element greatly reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater clarity and color accuracy.
A Super Integrated Coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress internal reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions.
AF-P pulse motor uses stepping motors to deliver impressively smooth, quiet, and fast autofocus performance that is well-suited to both stills and video applications.
Rounded seven-blade diaphragm promotes a pleasing out of focus quality that benefits the use of shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.
Autofocus switch has been removed from the lens design for a sleek profile; this operation is now accessible in compatible cameras' menu systems.

Product is everything I was expecting and more. The only problem was that my first order was cancelled without a reason and I had to spend a solid 45 min over the phone to have the order placed again. The product is great though.

Awesome Lens for a Great Price

I bought this lens with the D5600 lens kit and I have loved it ever since. Although this is not a Vibration Reduction lens and people might think it is a cheap lens, it is the opposite. Very good for fast action shots and any other genre from a further distance. Not the best lens for close up shots but everything else is very good for such a cheap lens. I highly recommend this lens.

I attach this lens on my Nikon D7200, the focus is fast, the image is sharp. Don't feel need VR. The weight is light, make my life easier. This is best 70-300mm lens for the quality and price.

I got this lense in a promo package for a D3400 camera. This is my first DSLR camera and I am a beginner at this. I took these pics off the Lanai at our condo in Kona HI. I used no tri-pod. I rested my hand on the railing and was surprised how good these action pics came out. I didnt think it was possible with no VR. Was I surprised. For the money, you cant beat this lens.

i have several of these, and they are for the most part, worth whatever they cost.. except for the one I am reviewing. I just think this one has been lying around and you wanted to get rid of it. It is slow and hard to focus .. not happy. but i already sent one back. not doing it again will re-think a reduction in price next time.

Is this compatible with D7000?
Asked by: Cliveland
No, the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens, B&H # NI7030045ED, is not compatible for use with the Nikon D7000 DSLR camera. If you are looking for a telephoto lens compatible for use with the Nikon D7000 DSLR camera, I would recommend either the Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon Digital SLRs & 35mm Film Cameras, B&H # TA70300N, the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro Lens for Nikon AF-D, B&H # SI70300456AN, or the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II Lens, B&H # NI5520045.

There is any way I could adapt this lens to the bmpcc 4k? If so, do I need an adapter with electronic pins?
Asked by: Leonardo
One would need an adapter with electronics in order to properly adapt the Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens to the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The only adapter we currently have like this is the Viltrox NF-M1 Autofocus Lens Mount Adapter for Nikon F-Mount to Micro Four Thirds Camera, BH #VINFM1 (https://bhpho.to/3i8ODCf). This has been confirmed to work with the Blackmagic camera, but it has not been tested with this lens, and so results may vary.

Asked by: Martin
The Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens BH #NI7030045ED is not compatible with Nikon D3000 DSLR and the AF-P type lenses use a new electromagnetic focusing system that the D3000 cannot communicate with.
