Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 overview

  • 1Description

Reach out and capture some of the most distant subjects with this AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens from Nikon. Designed for DX-format DSLRs, this telephoto zoom offers users an impressive equivalent focal length range of 105-450mm. Using an extra-low dispersion element and the Super Integrated Coating, users will be able to capture crisp, clean images with minimal flare and ghosting. The AF-P series of lenses uses a special pulse motor AF system which uses stepping motors for smooth, silent focusing during both stills and video shooting. This series removes switches from the lens barrel to avoid accidentally changing settings, allowing users to change settings in their camera's menu. Additionally, it utilizes a rounded 7-blade diaphragm for smooth bokeh.

DX-format telephoto zoom offers equivalent focal length range of 105-450mm.
One extra-low dispersion lens element works to reduce chromatic aberrations; improve overall image sharpness, clarity, and color fidelity; and help to minimize the overall weight of the lens.
Super Integrated Coating reduces the impact of flare and ghosting in your images.
A pulse stepping motor AF system enables accurate and silent focusing that works well in both stills and video shooting.
Rounded 7-blade aperture diaphragm produces smooth out-of-focus elements.

    Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 reviews

AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED Lens is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Fast-Focusing; Excellent Value I recently purchased and tried this lens extensively paired with the D3400 camera before sending it off to replace my son's older model 55-200 stolen from him in London. Although this lens sports a polycarbonate lens mount, it feels robust, and the manual focusing action is beautifully smooth and precise. Additionally, I was astonished at how quickly it focused on this the D3400, particularly in video mode--night and day from the sluggish focus of my D7100 with higher priced, older model, considerably larger 70-300 (or any other lens on that camera)--very impressive. This lens was well worth the price, and the only precaution I would issue is that if you are accustomed to VR (vibration reduction), this may not be the lens for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zoom zoom This zoom lens is powerful but lighter in weight than ones I have used before - which is good! I have since bought a lens hood and UV filter, and a cap keeper so I won't lose that lens cap anytime soon. This lens is sharp, quick focusing, and it makes it easy to frame a subject.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Functional Telephoto In use for sports photography, does well for outdoor field sports (Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Lacrosse). Glass is too slow for indoor use. Lightweight, functional photo quality is good, autofocus could be a little faster but not a significant determent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This One is a Keeper I received this as a kit lens with the purchase of a D5300. This is a great lens, color rendition is perfect, focus is tack sharp, zoom range is great. Works perfect as a portrait lens in the 70mm to 140mm range, at iso 100 and F8 will easily make a 20x30 print crystal clear. I don't like VR so I am glad it is not on this lens, would have given 5 stars except for the plastic mounting ring and no M/A focus switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent lens. I use this for personal use. I received this 70 - 300mm lens as part of a kit when I purchased the Nikon D3400 Thanksgiving weekend. I probably would not have brought this, but so glad it came with a special B & H offer. Amazing lens, the zoom is just incredible! A definite recommend for anyone. B & H is my go to for any and all electronics. Free shipping and prices can not be beat.
