  • 1Description

Easily transportable and with impressive print speeds, the P525L Photo Printer from HiTi features improved durability and color compared to its predecessor and provides an excellent solution for photo booths and on-location event photographers to produce quality prints on the spot. This printer uses dye diffusion thermal transfer with a max resolution of 300 dpi to produce full color prints rapidly. It can produce a 4 x 6" print in just 12.8 seconds along with the ability to create 5 x 7" and 6 x 8" prints when needed. Additionally, users can select between either matte and glossy finishes.

Operation is simple with a monochrome LCD to check printer status and five hard buttons. Also, the unit has USB 2.0 connectivity for working directly with a computer and it can accept an optional Wi-Fi dongle which adds support for direct access from an Android or iOS device.

    HiTi P525L reviews

P525L Photo Printer is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from BEWARE: Dead on Arrival - HiTi No Tech Support Available Purchased this brand new and the product shows 0700 Cam Error 01. As soon as I removed the protective packaging inside the unit. It is dead on arrival. I checked HiTi website and surprised to know that this error is on their FAQ for brand new printer. But very vague, no instruction but to call their tech support (not 1800 number). I called and left messages. But no reply I emailed and no reply either. This is my 6th HiTi and this is the first time I encountered a problem and first time to call. If only I knew that there is no customer service, I have not purchased from this company. Good luck claiming warranty if. I'm lucky I have 30 days to return to B&H.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great output. One stupid design flaw. This is a great printer for speed, print quality, and price. However, loading paper and ribbon is very inconvenient: you end up juggling the supply and take-up ribbon rolls with the flimsy film between them getting crinkled and tugged as you try to seat the roller ends. If you get a paper jam, you are really in for a struggle as the paper feeds BEHIND the ribbon, forcing you to remove a partially used ribbon mid-cycle to get to the paper. Make sure you have a place to put the ribbon so it doesn't roll away while you pull, cut clean, and re-feed the paper. The P510's method of a tray that held the ribbon rolls in place, and a separate path for the paper was SO much easier to work with.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Produces Great Prints But... I work as an event photographer and was looking to streamline my process and thought that the new 525 Hiti Wifi feature was the answer. Wrong! The printer only works wirelessly when used with a cell phone or a tablet. You will need to download an app called prinbiz to your tablet or phone and print selfie photos? I shoot a full frame dslr camera during events not cell phone photos. Turns out the prinbiz app is the only wireless interface that supports the wireless function. I own the older Hiti 510 and it offers the ability to shoot tethered which is still pretty useful with a 15ft cord, but the 525 doesn't even have the tether function anymore. I feel like the printer took a step back with features for the event photographer. I will now have to use a laptop connected to the printer and laptop tethered to my camera. If you buy this printer make sure you research the wireless capabilities, i obviously didn't. I'm currently trying configure wifi from camera to laptop to gain some mobility.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really good so far - needs a bit more instruction I used the printer today for the first time. It prints quick, nice and reliably. Two problems that I have encountered so far, one that I'm sure I can fix an the other is out of my control. The first problem; after I installed the printer, it showed up in my available printers. However, each time I unplug and plug it back in, the computer in, it makes a new copy of the printer - HiTi 525L,HiTi 525L (Copy 1),HiTi 525L (Copy 2) and so on. I've never had this problem with a printer before, but I am sure I can fix it easily. The second issue that I found is that there is no instructions except for a tiny picture inside the printer of how to load the paper. The paper holders had black wheels attached to them, no where on the instructions did it mention that they need to be removed to hold the roll. After about 30 minutes of struggling I finally figured it out. Overall i would say that the printer was and is worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Printer Fail On First Job I got this printer, place ribbon and print few single test and all was fine, When I took it for a real Job, after ten or so prints, it got stuck, it keep saying out of ribbon, I remove and place in many times finally it let me print one or two more, reinitializing and failing printing half way, I hat to tap the printer for 3 hours to some how avoid getting stuck, but as soon taping the side it stuck. I will not recommend you to use this for a job, is unreliable and if you do you better have two. Good I got in in BH and I got my money back but I still have a roll of paper that will go waist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Onsite Workhorse Using this to quickly print a high volume of 5x7's at onsite events, and it works great. It's doubling as my desk-side test printer - I can run quick prints here to check color before sending large prints out to be run. Fast, solidly built, great quality, and economical to run - everything I want in a portable professional printer. No ink is a HUGE plus in my world. The instructions are weak, but its pretty easy to sort out. I did have to do some searching to find the mystery WiFi adapter - turns out it's any generic PNP USB WiFi adapter, and costs about $12. Also, it can be set up to print wireless from Windows devices... from the literature, I expected only iOS and Android devices. I found turning off color enhancement yields the most natural prints, but that's my preference... runs great directly out of Capture One and Lightroom. Overall, it's a 5 star product - the weak documentation is more than overcome by quality and features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer for the money I needed this for an on-site shoot where I didn't need to print immediately but could have. I took about 150 portraits of a meet and greet. Photos turned out great and they printed in less than an hour. I had my MacBook directly connected and printed directly from Lightroom. Great printer and was perfect for what I needed. I may end up using this as a photo booth type printer it was easy to set up and fast prints

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All in all good, just a few issues to resolve Very fast printing! A few issues, when the print comes out there is no tray and it comes out so fast the print shoots across the room (OK not exactly across lol but it has power). Solution = we are 3Doing printing a tray. Loading the ink is tough as you have to hold both sides of the roll and almost need three hands. With the ink roll it would be difficult to switch paper sizes mid roll. SThe unit is also super lou solution = we are building a sound proof box for it lol). It shipped fast and arrived on time. Customer service was nice.
