BlackRapid Curve Breathe Overview

The BlackRapid Curve Breathe Camera Strap is designed to be worn across a right-handed user's body, draped from the left shoulder to the right hip. A connected camera can then rest upside-down along the hip so that it can be quickly raised for use. Incorporating a moisture-wicking shoulder pad, this strap is built to provide most photographers with a comfortable and versatile carrying solution for one camera. Additionally, it is an effective option for thin or smaller-framed photographers who intend to move quickly whether on flat or rugged terrain.

The Curve Breathe further stabilizes the attached camera when used with its included BlackRapid Brad Breathe Stabilizing Strap. The Brad Breathe secures this strap under the user's left shoulder and prevents the attached camera from twisting as it rests along one's right side. When camera movement along the side is less of a concern, the Brad Breathe is easy to remove.

To attach to a camera or a lens, the BlackRapid Curve Breathe Camera Strap features a durable, brass and zinc-alloy CR-3 ConnectR locking carabiner. An included BlackRapid FR-5 FastenR Breathe creates a connection point using a camera or lens's 1/4"-20 tripod mount. The FR-5 FastenR Breathe has a large, integrated D-ring for easy use with BlackRapid straps that utilize a CR-3 ConnectR.

The length of this strap is adjustable from 36.0 to 65.8" and its nylon webbing measures up to 1.0" wide. Spring-loaded bumper locks that can be slid up and down the length of the strap's webbing make it especially easy to limit excess camera movement along the length of the Curve Breathe. When multiple cameras or lenses need to be carried, a separately-available BlackRapid CoupleR Strap allows a BlackRapid Curve camera strap to be joined with a second camera strap, that is also compatible with a CoupleR, to create a functional double-camera harness.

A nylon pouch is included for storage and transport, as well as a plastic BlackRapid Lockstar Breathe Carabiner Protector, which is compatible with BlackRapid straps that feature a CR-3 ConnectR locking carabiner. By folding over a CR-3 ConnectR, the Lockstar Breathe prevents unintentional user contact with a CR-3 ConnectR that could cause it to accidentally unlock. Additionally, it helps to block the metal surface of a CR-3 ConnectR from scratching a connected camera or lens.

Which BlackRapid product works best with a Canon ...

Which BlackRapid product works best with a Canon SX70 HS bridge camera and binoculars for birding? What if I also carry a backpack. Like my binoculars harness because I have neck pain. Bin sit in middle of chest with straps going over shoulders, criss-crossing behind back, and returning under arms: https://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Optics-Binocular-Harness-Strap/dp/B000BH24JM Will the BlackRapid Curve Breathe work with my binoculars harness system??? Will they get in each other's way? What if I add a backpack? Right now camera on single strap and binoculars are constantly bumping each other. Can't even lift up one to look at birds without tugging and tangling. BlackRapid Binocular strap doesn't look right because it dangles from neck. Like idea of attaching bins to a backpack, but that's the exception, not the norm. Suggestions for perfect combo where camera is easy to detach if I want to hand to my boyfriend or attach a tripod?

Can this strap bear the weight of canon 7dii with telephoto lens attached, about 6 lbs?
Asked by: Geetha
Thanks so much for contacting us. We understand your concern and can assure you that all of our straps are designed to safely carry all professional-level cameras and equipment and will easily hold 20kg (44 lbs) of static weight load. We recommend attaching the strap directly to the larger lens, as this will help distribute the weight more evenly. For an added layer of security and to help with peace of mind, we do recommend the use of the Camera Safety Tether that comes in the box with new a strap and is also available on our website as well as our Amazon store. Please be sure to take a moment to view the "How To" video on our website that demonstrates the proper attachment of the camera to the FR-5 using the carabiner for an extra snug fit.

question

Can this be comfortably worn with a backpack?
Asked by: Christopher S.
I have never tried it , but i see no reason it would not work . Maybe you could put your backpack in your car or somewhere safe , as you only need your camera as the sling is designed for quick access for shots and to store it while you are walking or tramping . Happy shooting.

question

I am five foot in height, cancer as a kid shortened my torso, hence, straps often seem too long for me at their shortest. Having trouble using the specs listed to know if this would be too long for me. Any advice or experience from shorter folk?
Asked by: Peter
Being similar in height, I have the same problem and do own this strap. I would honestly say that at max height (the point in which adjusted strap in the back comes back down and reaches the camera) is pocket level. Just slightly below my hip. I am OK with my mirrorless and D750. But a camera with a grip or my D850, is too long. As the other answer mentioned, it can continue to be adjusted but you would have to do some creative stitching to hide all of the extra strap that comes down to avoid it from wrapping back up in the front and preventing the camera from laying flat.

question

I already have an AcraSwiss compatible tripod L-bracket. How does the camera mount to this strap. The product pictures dont show a detailed shot. It looks to me like the users in the photos use the standard tripod mounting screw to attach the camera to the strap. The L-bracket already uses this screw connection on the camera to mount the bracket to the body of the camera so is there any other special adapter required?
Asked by: Robert M.
The native D-ring that comes on a tripod plate is not weight-bearing, the ring will pop off. We have a patented weight tested FastenR that connects to the 1/4 tripod socket on the bottom of the camera. The ConnectR then attaches to that. To attach the Arca Swiss compatible ball head, you would need to get one of our Tripod plates which have a patented weight-bearing FastenR design to work with our straps so you can easily go from strap to tripos flawlessly and with confidence.

I need to be able to quickly disengage the camera from the strap, and quickly mount it on my tripod using the ArcaSwiss hardware. How? What pieces are needed? Answers to a similar question did not include a solution I could find at B&H

You will need an ArcaSwiss compatible tripod plate (BlacRapid offers 2) and also an L-bracket.
