I purchased two of these brackets to mount a guide scope and asiair to my RASA 8 top rail. They are solidly built. My favorite feature is the large knobs. They are easy to get leverage over and far enough out that you aren't mashing your hand into equipment. I will note that I wish the mounting holes were spaced in inches. This isn't that big of a problem, but it prevents me from using more than one bolt to mount my guide scope.

It's built very well... but without a sense of scale in the photos I expected to fit the small dovetail on my guide scope... which it didn't. It would have been perfect for this.

Typical Losmandy quality. OK, but not a work of art. Oddly the one threaded hole (center near handle end) is 5/16? The other non-threaded holes accept 6M or 1/4 bolts. My knob was also metal.

Ok, so I am writing this review even though I didn't use this product. I purchased it because I thought it was much smaller than it is. - Max Width: 3.75"; Total Height: 1"; Total Length: 2.5"; Saddle Length: 2.5"; Saddle Height Upper: .6"; Saddle Width Upper: 1.85"; Saddle Height Lower: .25"; Saddle Width Lower: 3.15"; Saddle Length: 2.5". - The dovetail mounting bracket is extremely well made because it is made from 6061 aluminum, has been machined IAW with dovetail specifications (see above), and the finish is anodized and extremely durable. - There is one " threaded mounting hole and 5 unthreaded and recessed mounting holes. - The unit shipped with two Allen key mounting bolts which fit into the recessed mounting holes for a flush finish. - With respect to B&H, from selection to delivery this transaction went perfectly. Thank you ... as always - will shop again.

The description did not tell me how big it was. I thought it was about 7 long but it is really 4.5 x 4.5. I made an adaptor and it worked out for me. Great quality and mine had a metal knob.

hi, are you able to mount the Losmandy dovetail saddle adapter Bracket on a Sky-Watcher star adventure vixen dovetail mount saddle? The flat plate on the Star Adventure has a 1/4"20 screw. and the Losmandy adapter has a 5/16"18 thread. What converted screw would I need to join the two of them together?

The only hole that is threaded is not a 1/4-20. We cannot measure it here. The other holes go straight through and have no threads.

Can this be mounted instead of the AZ-EQ5 saddle plate?

I would not really recommend mounting a scope to configuration - it's far too light weight for that. I wouldn't even put up my Redcat 51 in it. This is to mount an additional item to a top-mounted dovetail saddle, like a guide camera or at most a counterweight. I use it to mount my Pegasus UPB to a C11 - it works well for that.

What is the spacing between the 4 1/4" holes? I ...

What is the spacing between the 4 1/4" holes? I would like to mount on an optical breadboard with 25 mm M6 holes.

There are six(6) 1/4" holes. 3 'pairs' on 3/4" centers. The outermost pairs are 1 3\4" center from each other and form a rectangle. The center pair is offset by 3/8" . So the upper hole of the center pair is at the center of the rectangle formed by the outermost pairs. That is the one that is threaded.I They are all countersunk on the underside at 0.404" x 0.277" deep. hope that helps.
