This dovetail saddle would have several uses. I have it attached to the underside of the Losmandy rail to add weight for balancing. I'll be adding additional weights that will mount on the 3/8x5" bolt that I bought that screws through the center. Also this is a lot nicer than the photo that's listed for this saddle which has a plastic knob for tightening. I was very pleased to see they changed it for a nice aluminum and knurled knob which makes it looks like a more higher end product.

High quality machined product and at a decent price point. One difference from the product page photo is that the knob is a knurled aluminum round one instead of a black plastic one. This seems like an improvement over the product photo so no complaints from me. As another reviewer mentioned it came with two allen drive cap bolts that fit into any of the four recessed holes on the under side. These have 1/4-20 thread.

hi, are you able to mount the Losmandy dovetail saddle adapter Bracket on a Sky-Watcher star adventure vixen dovetail mount saddle? The flat plate on the Star Adventure has a 1/4"20 screw. and the Losmandy adapter has a 5/16"18 thread. What converted screw would I need to join the two of them together?

The only hole that is threaded is not a 1/4-20. We cannot measure it here. The other holes go straight through and have no threads.

Can this be mounted instead of the AZ-EQ5 saddle plate?

I would not really recommend mounting a scope to configuration - it's far too light weight for that. I wouldn't even put up my Redcat 51 in it. This is to mount an additional item to a top-mounted dovetail saddle, like a guide camera or at most a counterweight. I use it to mount my Pegasus UPB to a C11 - it works well for that.

What is the spacing between the 4 1/4" holes? I ...

What is the spacing between the 4 1/4" holes? I would like to mount on an optical breadboard with 25 mm M6 holes.

There are six(6) 1/4" holes. 3 'pairs' on 3/4" centers. The outermost pairs are 1 3\4" center from each other and form a rectangle. The center pair is offset by 3/8" . So the upper hole of the center pair is at the center of the rectangle formed by the outermost pairs. That is the one that is threaded.I They are all countersunk on the underside at 0.404" x 0.277" deep. hope that helps.
