The MD-N01 Battery Grip from Ziv is designed specifically for the Nikon D500 DSLR camera and accepts one Nikon EN-EL15 battery. With one battery in the grip and one in the camera, your shooting time is effectively doubled. The MD-N01 can also hold and utilize eight AA batteries. Two battery trays, one for the EN-EL15 and one for the AAs, are included.
The design of a battery grip offers a comfortable and secure way in which to hold your DSLR, especially in the vertical position. The MD-N01 comes with an alternate shutter release button to facilitate shooting when held vertically. The shutter button offers a lock position to prevent accidental release. In addition, the grip has alternate AF-ON and Fn buttons, as well as multi selector, main and sub-command dials. It is designed with an anti-slip rubber grip and firm curvature to further improve handling. A tripod socket is included, as is a holder for the camera's contact cover; so as not to lose it when it has been removed to install the battery grip.

Ziv MD-N01 Reviews
Looks like works like a Nikon
I've only used it one time, but it appears to work as well as a Nikon product. It feels nice in my hand and operates well. No negatives.
No, it is not a Nikon grip . . .
But it is awfully close and perfectly sensible if, like me, you only need it for sometime use. In my case that would be the few times i shoot action/motorsports with a long telephoto. No the switches are not up to Nikon's quality but the body moldings are close to perfect and it comes -- like the Nikon -- with both an EL-15a and 8xAAs. i doubt that i will ever shoot enough in one day to actually need the second battery but you never know.
BAD
Bought JAN 18 from BH; tested ok upon receipt. Broke second time I use it on JUN 2 with less than 200 shutter count. The multi selector button became short circuit and have itself ON at all time... This is the worst no name brand product I have ever bought in the last 20 years. I do not expect these product for being durable or being the same quality as Nikon. But using it for total less than 30 minutes and less than 500 shots is no acceptable. Although the product still under the 1 years warranty, I did not bother to send it back as I lost confident on the product.
Works well with no major issues.
The grip is a bit fiddly to attach but fits snugly. Shutter, function buttonand command dials feel cheap, but AF and joystick feel good. Pressing the joystick does not do anything. Works well with AA batteries or EN-EL15 battery. After a few hours (666 frames) of shooting with an EN-EL15 in the grip and camera I had drained the grip battery to 77%, and somehow the camera battery had lost 15%. It didn't drain at all overnight. Not perfect, but far far cheaper than the Nikon branded grip.
Very good buy
I took a chance on this because it was a deal of the day. I'm glad I did as it seems well built all the buttons and dials work as they should. I bought it for the vertical shutter but it gives the same increase in FPS that the Nikon grip does. I just wish they made different ones as I would love to have one on my other cameras
Better than the Nikon battery grip
I have used Nikon battery grips for years, but thought I'd give this a try at the price point. Nikon battery grips have a chronic problem of loosing connection without any indication. Now that I have used this product for months it has never lost connectivity. The build quality isn't what the Nikon grip is, but is sufficient and performance is much better. You can buy several of these for the price of a single Nikon grip. If you don't get the Nikon grip free as part of a promotion, I would sure look at this grip.
So far so good
A lot less expensive than Nikon grip, so far seems to be functional. Fit is good.
Great price, works fine
Not Nikon OEM, but it fits well and functions perfectly. The sale price made buying it a no-brainer.
