Nikon Monarch 20-60x82 Overview

With extra-low dispersion (ED) glass preventing chromatic aberrations and Field-Flattener technology for edge-to-edge sharpness, the Monarch 20-60x82 ED Spotting Scope from Nikon offers a contrast-rich and color-accurate image. Equipped with an 82mm objective lens that gathers ample light and a 20-60x zoom eyepiece, this straight-viewing scope is suited to a wide range of uses.

Multilayer coatings on the lenses and prisms provide bright detailed views, even in low-light conditions. The focusing ring permits fine adjustment for distant subjects and coarse adjustment for nearby subjects. Weather and temperature changes won't interfere with your glassing—the Monarch's body and eyepieces are waterproof and the body is nitrogen filled to prevent fogging and condensation.

  • Field-Flattener technology minimizes aberrations at the edge of the field of view, creating a sharper, clearer view right out to the edge
  • Extra-low dispersion (ED) glass delivers sharp images free of violet chromatic aberration in addition to the conventional RBG color correction
  • Multilayer coated lenses and prisms provide bright detailed views, even in low-light conditions
  • Optimized Focusing System has a large focusing ring with fine and coarse ability for smoother, faster, and less stressful focusing
  • Aluminum-alloy body with type 1 bayonet mount with locking system makes eyepiece attachment/detachment easy and secure
  • O-ring sealed and nitrogen filled for fog and waterproof protection

This scope is certainly worth the weight hiking to your favorite observation points. Fun to operate. My scope came with a very good neoprene cover - a good deal considering how expensive after-market covers can be.

Awesome Scope!

I bought this scope to view boats & marine life from my 6th story oceanfront balcony. I paired it with a Magnus video tripod and the results are astounding! I was able to identify a 2'x3' flag on the back of a sailboat from over 3 miles away. It was French by the way. I could see the rigging & people, just amazing. I was able to read the name of a boat from 2 miles away. Glad I chose the angled scope, gives more viewing flexibility. The stay-on case is a little tricky to put on but it's a nice added feature. I've always sworn by Nikon for m & I am not disappointed.

question

Is there a way to connect this to Nikon DSLR like a Nikon D850 in order to digiscope?
Asked by: Stephen
One problem with this idea is the tripod mounting. The camera can be mounted on a tripod but then the heavy scope is way out in front of the tripod, making it difficult to hold the assembly stead on even the best of tripod heads. If you mount the scope on the tripod then the weight of the camera is at the back of the scope and again, it's hard to balance the assembly on the tripod. The idea of using a 105 mm lens in between the scope and camera makes this problem worse, extending the scope and camera farther apart. You'd be much better off buying a Nikon 200-500 mm lens, or any other telephoto lens, and using the tripod collar, which is made to balance the camera and lens.

Hi all. How about the CA (chromatic aberration) of this scope compared to Kowa TSN-883 model? Many thx.
Asked by: Hoan
Because of the fluorite glass used in the Kowa chromatic aberration has been greatly reduced.

I have a Canon EOS M6 Mark II DSLR, what adaptor do I need to buy? How about for an iphone 12 max pro? Thanks!
Asked by: Andro
To mount your Canon EOS M6 Mark II you will need the Novagrade T-Mount Digiscoping Adapter BH #NOUA00T101 • MFR #UA-00T1-01 to mount on the scope and the Vivitar T-Mount to Canon EF-M Mount Adapter BH #VIHFT2EOSM • MFR #HF-T2-EOS-M to mount on your camera body. Those (2) pieces will now screw together. To mount your smartphone I would recommend the Celestron NexYZ DX 3-Axis Smartphone Digiscoping Kit BH #CENEXYZDXK • MFR #81057
