The ARRI Mini Follow Focus MFF-2 Cine Standard/Hard Stop Set assembles to create a lightweight follow focus unit that can mount on either side of your camera when using the hard stop focus knob. The standard focus knob is for mounting the follow focus unit with the knob on the camera left side. The Cine Base snaps onto 15mm LWS rods and features a double-hinged mechanism that allows you to adjust the drive unit to match the diameter of your lens.
The hard stop focus knob features a hard stop and marking disk, and has a built-in accessory socket. The standard focus knob features a marking disk and has a built-in accessory socket. The included 0.8 MOD drive gear is 6mm thick and has 43 teeth, all of which make the unit well suited for use with larger prime and 35mm format zoom lenses.
The Mini Follow Focus MFF-2 Cine Base from ARRI is a main building block of the MFF-2 follow focus system. This sturdy, single-sided unit snaps onto any 15mm rod lightweight support (not included). The Cine Base is designed with a 2:1 knob-to-gear ratio for quick but smooth focus pulls on cine-style lenses, with their typically large range of focus barrel rotation. The base's reversing feature can be used to maintain the standard direction of the focusing knob when using Nikon and Leica lenses.
The modular design of the MFF-2 enables you to build the follow focus to suit your needs. A choice of three compatible ARRI focus knobs is available—standard, two-speed, or hard-stop (all left-sided). Gears come in various sizes and pitches to work with different lens barrel sizes and gear ring pitches. Focus knobs and lens gears are not included with the MFF-2 Cine Base.
The left-sided ARRI Standard Focus Knob fits ARRI FF-5 and MFF-2 Cine/HD, and FF-4 follow focus units. This standard, single-speed knob is designed to work with cine-style lenses having hard infinity and close focus limits. One reusable flat marking disk is included with the knob. Compatible ARRI focus accessories such as whips, speed cranks, and extensions are available separately.
This ARRI Follow Focus Gear can be used with all ARRI follow focus systems. The 43-tooth, 0.8 mod gear is designed for use with larger prime lenses and 35mm format zoom lenses that have 32 pitch gear rings. Its gear face width measures a relatively slim 6mm.
