Nikon 16205 overview

  • 1Description

Nikon designed the CoolShot 80i VR Golf Laser Rangefinder to alleviate the effect of external vibrations, so you'll get an accurate measurement every time.

This rangefinder features the proprietary Hyper Read algorithm to deliver fast and stable measurements regardless of the distance to the target, and First Target Priority mode with Locked On display that automatically shows the distance to the closest target sighted when overlapping subjects are viewed. The CoolShot 80's ID (Incline/Decline) feature compensates for uphill or downhill slopes, helping you select the right club for the shot. It can be disabled for USGA-compliant tournaments.

You can press and hold the power button for up to 8 seconds to measure multiple or very small or thin objects, allowing you to know the distances to hazards, pins, mounds, and trees.

The CoolShot has a measurement accuracy of ±0.75 yd/m up to 700 yards/meters and ±1.25 yd/m beyond that. It displays the distance in 0.5 yd/m increments, and is displayed within 0.5 seconds.

The 6x magnification is suitable for identifying targets at mid-range distances and a long eye relief helps eyeglass wearers use it comfortably. Information is displayed in an in-view display and an auto-off function saves battery life. Weatherproof construction, a wide temperature tolerance, and one-touch activation make this rangefinder a full-featured device for your golf game.

Nikon 16205 reviews

CoolShot 80i VR Golf Laser Rangefinder is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, compact and accurate Packaged well, easy to install the battery, initial set up was straightforward. Eyepiece adjustment was initially stiff, but loosened up nicely after a couple of tries. Nice clear, crisp viewfinder. Distance measuring seems pretty close to course markings. Slope compensated distances shown on bottom of viewfinder making club selection that much easier. Target lock on was very quick and the VR is very similar to the Nikon photographic lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of kit. I recently had the opportunity to compare this with a Bushnell V3 (non slope). My playing partner had the V3 and during our match, most of the yardage we measured was within 2 yds of each other, which I would consider to be acceptable. The 80i VR was very accurate in slope adjustment which helped considerably on a couple of holes with varied elevation changes. The VR function is a welcome addition, reducing movement while sighting. Lightweight and accurate, it is a welcome addition to my golf bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Class Rangefinder I’m already a long time Nikon guy so I thought I would try their rangefinder versus the popular competition. I couldn’t be happier. Super easy to use, accurate, and if you are not too steady any longer the VR works perfectly. Worth every penny.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I would not recommend this product Somewhat disappointed as I expected the image stabilizer to work. It doesn't appear to.
