expensive

There is nothing I can say negative about the rail, other than it is incredibly expensive, as all RRS products are. I have RRS tripods and attachments, so I tend to buy their attachments, but I have also purchased some rails off eBay for 1/10th the cost of RRS and they've done the job with zero failures. You won't go wrong with this rail, but it's still just a rail. Buy what's right for you.

RRS makes excellent products. The quality and attention to detail is second to none. Of course the price reflects the quality but these components will last for generations if properly cared for.

This bracket fits my Sigma telephoto zoom lens perfectly! Very secure and allows for adjustment and better balance as the lens is extended.

quality but heavy and expensive

I've used RRS gear for many years. Their quality is high for tripods, ballheads, etc, but they still haven't improved their efficiency of manufacturing enough to get their prices inline with the competition on simple products like this one. This rail cost 10x what a similar rail I found on eBay for one of my other lenses cost. This rail is heavy and could be better engineered to remove some of the weight without sacrificing strength. Quality product, but there are many options out there for a fraction of the cost.

Yes, the Multi-Purpose Rail comes with 2-1/4-20 screws that align perfectly on Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR Lens foot 2-1/4-20 threads. This contributes to a solid and strong connection.

question

Would I attach this to the foot of a 200-500 to make it arca Swiss compatible?
Asked by: Rustin
Yes. They also have a replacement available for the entire foot that is in and of itself Arca Swiss compatable. (See Really Right Stuff LCF-51) Check both out to see what may work best for your needs. Personally, I like having one less plate to attach / lose.
