Dedicated to the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR, the B5DMkIV Base Plate from Really Right Stuff is an Arca-type compatible plate that facilitates easier, more stable mounting of your camera atop a tripod. This plate features a modular design that allows it to accept an optional L-component, which combine to form a dedicated L-plate. The custom-fit design also maintains full access to the battery door and features two Quick Disconnect (QD) mounting system points for attaching a strap, a boss for an accessory hand strap, and magnetic storage for the hex key. Additionally, the CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum construction is finished with a Type II black anodizing and a laser-engraved center mark is placed on the rear of the plate for easy alignment.

The Really Right Stuff B5DMkIV Base Plate for Canon 5D Mark IV will not fit on the Canon 5D mark III.
Canon shortened the width of the 5D IV camera, and for that reason the plates that work for the 5D IV don't work for the other 5D's
