I'm super disappointed in this light. It hardly emits a glow. You'd think by the looks of it that it would be bright but it does not illuminate subject at all even less than a foot away. I have wasted my money!

The reviews on photo websites promised a great light, and they were right. Easy to use, nice color range, crank it up all the way and it's so bright you'll need shades. After I put the three parts in the box together wrong a couple times (it was four times), I had to resort to the instructions... Then it was easy. I like this light so much I thinking about getting another one.

I have IDX batteries for my Panasonic HC-X1. they have an X-Tap on the back. Could I use an adapter cable and power it directly off the camera battery? What is the wattage draw of this light?
The IDX System Technology SL-VBD96 7.2V Li-Ion Battery for Panasonic Cameras is very similar to the Sony L batteries used to power this light normally. While we do not have any wattage rating per se, we see no difficulty doing what you wish.
