I have IDX batteries for my Panasonic HC-X1. they have an X-Tap on the back. Could I use an adapter cable and power it directly off the camera battery? What is the wattage draw of this light?
The IDX System Technology SL-VBD96 7.2V Li-Ion Battery for Panasonic Cameras is very similar to the Sony L batteries used to power this light normally. While we do not have any wattage rating per se, we see no difficulty doing what you wish.

Yes. The YN300 AIR Bi-Color On-Camera LED Light has a cold shoe foot that will fit into the iOgrapher just like it fits into the stand shown in the picture on the lights B&H page.
