Yongnuo YN216 Overview

The YN-216W LED On-Camera Light from Yongnuo is designed to work on your camcorder or DSLR. For maximizing your lighting options, this 5500K light comes with four clip-on filters (diffusion, blue, orange, and red), a mini table-stand, and four, hinged, attached barndoors. The YN-216W LED On-Camera Light can be powered using AA batteries or a Sony NP-F series battery.

216 daylight-balanced (5500K) LEDs.
Power using an NP-F series battery, 6 x AA batteries, or via an optional AC adapter (not included).
Push-button remaining battery-charge LED display.
Dimmer adjusts in 10% increments in Coarse Mode, and in 1% increments in Fine Mode. This allows you to quickly rough in your dimming for example to 50%, then fine tune it up or down from there.
Mounts via 1/4"-20 threaded mounting screw.
Power/luminance adjustment knob.
The filters snap onto the fixture, which can accommodate one filter at a time.

Good cheap light. Has power, material of barn doors wont last forever, difuser is complicated. Good product, I wish to put the battery inside and has a digital charge meter

Last night I used these lights for the first time. I did video for a Quinceaera. The event was approximately 7 hours long. The lights stayed on the entire time. I was blown away. They exceeded my expectations.

How long will it last with 6AA batteries at Max bright?

You would probably get around 20-30 minutes of run time out of AA batteries when shooting at max brightness. For much longer run times we suggest adding an NP-F style battery, such as B&H # WANPF770.https://bhpho.to/2n2NUHc

what are the barndoors for?

Barndoors prevent light from spilling off and can be even used to further direct how you want the light to be projected. You can close off the barn doors to a certain degree to limit the light's beam.
