Yes, this equilizer allows for balanced XLR line level or unbalanced RCA stereo line level inputs. A CD player would connect throught the RCA inputs.

The input control is listed as input level, not a mute. It may still pass low level signal, even all the way down.

The rotary controls on the ART EQ341 are input level controls to adjust the signal level of the audio going into the EQ341. These controls are not output volume level controls.
