    Linksys WHW0302 US Reviews

Velop Wireless AC-4400 Tri-Band Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System (2 Units, White) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 90.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extreme Power Small Size LOVE LOVE LOVE This amazing new router! First off even the box and the way it was packaged so neatly even made me love it even more. It's such a powerful router in such a small form factor. It looks so nice placed anywhere you decide to call it it's home. Setup of this router was a breeze using the Linksys Smart Wifi App and only took under about 5 minutes to get my new network up and running. The speed I experience with this new device is beyond my expectations as well as the range of coverage I have with it. I've never been so satisfied with a product I would highly recommend this router to anyone and everyone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Innovative design and size. Product arrived very well packaged. Minimal paperwork/instructions included but not really required since App is easy to use and self explanatory. You can only set up the Velop system via the Linkys Smart WiFi iOS or Android apps. My setup was with two nodes know as parent (hooked to the cable modem) and child (the other node). Overall installation was fairly simple it took me about half an hour for setup and another half hour to set up all my devices. The nodes are small well designed with great ventilation they run much more cooler than my existing products. App is user friendly and provides easy access to monitor and interface with the devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installs and Works Great I received the Velop Whole Home Wi-Fi 2 pack yesterday. This was to replace a router and wifi extender that were about 4 years old. This was the easiest wifi router I have ever installed. All of the installation is done via your cell phone. It took under 15 minutes to install the 2 units. I have a 4,200 sq ft 2 story house and the coverage is fantastic in every part of it. The Velop definitely increased the speed of my main PC (which is plugged straight in to an ethernet port on the main unit) and in my case doubled the speed on all of my other wifi devices that we use in the other story of the house. I give a big thumbs up for this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great range inconsistent speeds had for just under one month. solved all of my range issues but would not play nice w/ fios service. I plug directly into the optical network interface on the side of my house with an RJ45 by passing the need to use big reds outdated router. This proved to be changeling. Linksys tech support was excellent but fios would not entertain the fact that their router was out of the loop and was unable to change anything in the Velop setup with the thin android/IOS setup app. In the end I got the Orbi with a much more robust web based setup interface solving all the issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to cover your entire home with wifi. Technology is ever changing. When Linksys announced the Velop Mesh System, I wondered what could it be? A router and extender combined in a single unit? Was I right, a totally new design for home users. Setup was easy, but a requirement is that you need the Linksys App and Bluetooth. Followed the steps on the app and the setup was fast. You don't need to be a techie for the installation. The app will guide you step by step all the way. Connect the first node to the modem with the supplied eathnet cable, the system will indicate if it successful or not. Proceed to the next step for the second node. As suggested, do not place it too far away from the first node. The nodes are designed to blend in to your surrounding decor. After setup, that you can put the nodes in areas that have low wifi signal. At the end, it will ask you to give a unique name to your mesh system. Once done, your connected. That simple. I placed one in the family room, the other in the upstairs landing. Tested speeds was fast through the house. The improvement I got was in the garage and backyard. I had connectivity issues with my previous system, but with this, no problems. I highly recommend this system if you got the cash to spare. A bit pricy but it blends into your home decor. It comes in one, two or three nodes. For a one room apartment, you can get the one node setup. My house is about 2000 sq ft. and two nodes worked perfectly. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mesh / node switchover not so good I bought this to roam around the house (3000 sq-ft). It was great as long as I didn't go from one side of the house to the other. If on the phone (Droid or Apple) using Wifi calling, it was painful to try and continue a conversation during the switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection As a long time owner of Apple Airports in all their configurations, I was disappointed?initially on the news that there would be no future wireless networking ?products developed by the company. ?My disappointment vanished quickly after setting up the Velop 2-node system which arrived quickly and on schedule from B&H. ?From the beautiful packaging, to the iOS application and related set-up process, this is a well-designed and robust product that delivers 100% on the promise of solid Wi-Fi coverage in every square foot of the house. While the Velop just works as advertised without getting in the way, the related app is the icing on the cake. ?Five stars all the way!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs improvement I received the Velop 2-Pack Whole-Home System from Linksys Friends+Family for free to test and give an honest review. I have spent the past few days using the system and have a few issues which need to be addressed. Everyone should understand that the product is brand new and will have a few bugs that need to be corrected. My concern at the moment is that it is very expensive and does not perform the way it is advertised, at least not in my home. I have always mentioned that if a network product came out and worked the way it was advertised in my home, it would work for anyone. I live in a two story home which is 2,700 square feet. The "comm room" is located on the first floor in the northwest part of my home. My office is located on the second floor in the southeast portion of my home. There are 4 walls and half a wall of glass separating the two nodes. Each node is supposed to cover 2,000 square feet so in total, I have a system that is advertised to cover 4,000 square feet. Both nodes do communicate but at a speed that is not close to what it should be. There is no way currently to see how the two nodes are performing. There should be a part of the Linksys app that shows how the connection between the two nodes are performing, like they have with the RE7000 extender. When I do a Speedtest from the node that is connected to my router, I get an average of 180 Mbits down which is what I got before the Velop. When I do the same test from my office, I get between 30 and 60 Mbits which is about the same as my connection when I go thru the RE7000. Hopefully, this can be corrected via firmware updates. As I said previously, this product is new and will take some adjustments by Linksys to make it better. I have two issues which may be due to my setup that need to be corrected. When I look at the DEVICES on the network thru the Linksys app, the following shows up, my Samsung Galaxy devices are only connecting to the 2.4Ghz band and not the 5Ghz band. This of course will greatly reduce the speed of my download tests via the SPEEDTEST app. Since there is no way currently to have more then one SSID defined, it makes it impossible to correct this. My devices do NOT have the ability to select the wifi band, not even in development mode. The other big issue for me is not having the ability to define my own sub-net. Without that there is no way I can use this in "production". The Velop is advertised as a router and an expensive one. It should have the same router setups as the other routers such as the WRT1900ACS and EA7500. For people living in a smaller house and not needing the requirement to have unique sub-nets and SSID's, the Velop may work for them. At the same time they may not need a Velop at all. I am going to try and get a third node which should correct my speed issues and if I do, I will see if I can update my review. I cannot recommend this product yet. They need to add more functionality and get better performance. In time I believe it will. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
