The IndiPRO Tools 2.1mm DC to NP-FW50 Dummy Battery Cable allows you to connect to power sources with a 2.1mm DC output, such as the SWIT S-8845 battery. The cable is unregulated and therefore shouldn't be used with sources that deliver more than 7.2 to 8.1V. It measures 20" long and features an NP-FW50 dummy battery for compatibility with the Sony a7 series of cameras.

Does Unregulated mean it will NOT protect camera during a power surge?

This battery is unregulated because it is specifically designed for use with the SWIT S-8845 battery, which will not output more power than this cable can handle. If you are not using this battery, we do not recommend this cable. A better choice would be the IndiPRO Tools SAFETAP to Sony NP-FW50 Regulated Dummy Battery Cable. This is a regulated cable that works with D-Tap Accessory Ports. https://bhpho.to/2Zigpnh
