To be honest, I didn’t have very high expectations for this, but I was happily surprised. I don’t see any obvious quality falloff from the X100vi native lens, and it’s not overly large on the camera. Nice to have in the pocket for those times when the native lens isn’t quite wide enough, or to use as your main walk around lens if you’re in a wider mood.

It will make your X100 in to an even better camera

totally subjective, BUT, I think this has made my X100VI in to an even more versatile camera. The wider field of view is great for up close situations, such as a small room, inside public transportation, or even for selfies with your partner. For video too. Although I do think quality suffer a tiny bit on video, more than photo. But it's such a small accessory and so easy to take off and throw in a pocket, that I have no excuse to not bring it any chance I can. If anything this has made me realize that Fuji should make a version of the X100 that's this focal length (28mm equivalent) and another version that's 40mm. The same way Leica has done the Q3 series. I bet they would sell a lot of them

Can this be used in combination with the "50mm" DIGITAL TELE-CONV setting to get an effective 40mm focal length, or is that option disabled when the WCL is attached?

FUJIFILM WCL-X100 II Wide Conversion Lens mounts on the lens bayonet on the FUJIFILM WCL-X100 II Wide Conversion Lens. There is no electronic communication between this add on lens and the camera, therefore it will not affect your camera menu sections.

Does this weather seal he X100VI. I bought a Nisi filter to weather seal fixed lens. Does this NEED a filter too?

Yes, the X100VI will retain its weather sealing when using the FUJIFILM WCL-X100 II Wide Conversion Lens. The add-on lens does not need a filter to make it weather-sealed.
