FUJIFILM WCL-X100 II Reviews

Surprisingly good

To be honest, I didn’t have very high expectations for this, but I was happily surprised. I don’t see any obvious quality falloff from the X100vi native lens, and it’s not overly large on the camera. Nice to have in the pocket for those times when the native lens isn’t quite wide enough, or to use as your main walk around lens if you’re in a wider mood.

It will make your X100 in to an even better camera

totally subjective, BUT, I think this has made my X100VI in to an even more versatile camera. The wider field of view is great for up close situations, such as a small room, inside public transportation, or even for selfies with your partner. For video too. Although I do think quality suffer a tiny bit on video, more than photo. But it's such a small accessory and so easy to take off and throw in a pocket, that I have no excuse to not bring it any chance I can. If anything this has made me realize that Fuji should make a version of the X100 that's this focal length (28mm equivalent) and another version that's 40mm. The same way Leica has done the Q3 series. I bet they would sell a lot of them

question

Can the WCL-X100 II be used on an X100T, X100S or X100?
Asked by: Bill
The order cameras X100, X100S and X100T require that you go in the menu and select the conversion lens type that you are attaching. The X100F detects the mark II version of this lens via magnets that are built in the unit. The only camera that will take advantage of this feature is the X100F all others require a menu change. If you have an older camera it would probably be better to stick to the mark I version unless you plan to upgrade to the X100F which takes advantage of this feature.

question

Why does the version II WCL-x100 cost less than the original model?
Asked by: Andrew K.
Currently the Fujifilm WCL-X100 Wide-Angle Conversion Lens for X100 Camera (Silver) B&H # FUWCLX100S retails for less than than the Fujifilm WCL-X100 II Wide Conversion Lens (Silver) B&H # FUWCLX100IIS and the Fujifilm WCL-X100 II Wide Conversion Lens (Black) B&H # FUWCLX100IIB. Prices are not always linear in retail. Many factors affect the price of an items such as inventory, demand, age, competition, color, etc, etc. We suggest if you see something you like at price you also like, buy it.
