Adder X-DVIPRO-US overview

  • 1Description

The ADDERLink X-DVI PRO KVM Extender from Adder extends a system's DVI-D, USB, and audio connections up to 164' (50m) away, letting your computer stay cool, clean, and dust-free while you work in a less-than ideal environment. The X-DVI PRO comes with a transmitter unit, which plugs into your computer's DVI-D, audio, and USB ports, as well as receiver unit that offers four USB 2.0 ports, one 3.5mm audio jack, and one DVI-D port. Both units connect to each other via a CAT 7, 7a, 6a, or 5e cable. Video resolution and distance are based upon on the type of networking cable used.

Digital Video, Real-Time Control
The X-DVI PRO extender uses an uncompressed system whereby every pixel of every frame is sent without loss. HDMI video and audio can be extended with the correct adapter cable, although HDCP and CEC are not supported.
Single Cat X Cable
Video, USB 2.0 (Low and Full Speed), and audio all pass along a single cable. Distance is dependent upon video resolution, the Cat X cable type, and the number of connection breaks for patch panels and wall plates. The maximums can be found below:

Cat 7: 1920 x 1200 resolution, up to 164' / 50m
Cat 6a: 1920 x 1200 resolution, up to 164' / 50m
Cat 5e: 1600 x 1200 resolution, up to 164' / 50m
Cat 7a: 1920 x 1200 resolution, up to 131.2' / 40m
USB 2.0
USB 2.0 technology enables connection of any USB human interface device from mice and keyboards through to graphics tablets, jog shuttles, and other devices. In addition, full-speed (12 Mb/s) isochronous devices, such as headsets, are supported.
Power Efficiency
The X-DVI PRO extender is designed to be power efficient. In fact, the transmitter unit can be powered solely from the host computer's USB connection.
EDID Management
The system has intelligent EDID management to allow the true characteristics of the monitor to be passed back to the computer.
ADDERLink X-DVI PRO extenders are delivered in a zero-config state, so you can plug them in and start working with them straight away. There's no need for drivers or software to be installed.
Stereo CD-quality sound (stereo channel 16-bit sampled at 44.1 kHz) is available to transfer audio from local to remote for line out. The device also supports 8 channels of HDMI audio simultaneously with analog audio.
